I am following, because I am interested to know this as well.
I was chatting to Avrie (who didn't know) and I mentioned that I'd either start a thread ... or ask Ilja.
Good job I strarted a thread ....
Hopefully Pure Pheonix won't be along to start a huge row
Choose one or the other, EBF has no dirty scripts before or after install nor does the Unlimited Companions Framework.
However, they "can" be loaded together but you may notice some isuses.
EBF, I believe works with, or Immersive Dogmeat has a patch for EBF.
Immersive DM mod description states it's "fully compatible with EBF" ... but EBF says you can have "DM and another companion ... "
So I'm confident that they will work together.
it's just that crossover with UCF ... sometimes I don't want just 2 followers .. I'd like to take DM, Piper, Curie ... maybe even Hancock along for the ride ... if only to get the affinity perks.
Sometimes ... after having had my butt handed to me on a plate ... I'll call up the troops and go back to the area for "another chat" Especially if I've given the crew buffed weapons with special effects attached.
EBF mentions changes to FollowerScript.pex and other such-like pixie talk.... and that's the worry.
I'm sure other uses could pop into XEdit and make it work but that's a bit beyond me.
I'm tempted to just add Immersive DM alongside UCF ... leaving out EBF ... but EBF also appears to add a few nice touches to DM's AI.
Also ... I'm over lvl60 ... and have no desire to remove a mod (UCF) from an ongoing playthrough with the risk that entails ...
Decisions, decisions ...
Atm ... I don't think I'll be uninstalling UCF as I want the option to have 3 or 4 followers ... if and when I fancy a peaceful stroll through the wasteland with my crew in tow.
I don't think EBF gives me that option ... (unless I'm wrong) ... and will only allow me DM plus one other follower.
I'm looking now at just adding Immersive DM to improve it's AI in-game ... unless someone knows how to make EBF allow extra followers.
i like it quite a bit.
it allows up to 5 companions at one time, and i don't thing dogmeat counts to that five, but the most i run with anymore is 5 anyway.
i used to have the Unlimited Companion Framework, and it was allowing everyone at once, but i recomend not running with that many.
but Unlimited Companion Frameworkc is not a large mods.
the one below has many functions, read the description.
i'm running from 160 to 200 mods at a time and this one and MCM and a few others are in there all the time.
i like it for many reasons but one that is a little buggy is the one where your companions change cloths for different conditions.
they sometimes switch to city cloths in diamond city, and miss.
they end up waliking into town naked.
horrible thing that is.
i have to switch into combat mode and back out to get them to have their propper "sunday go to meetin' clothes for town."
if i only define one set of clothes then i don't get this problem because they just stay in armor all the time.
you can modify their combat AI and have them do many different things involving salvage in the area.
read the description.
it works well.

edit:
and even though i like to use a differnt mod that lets me start at the airport, i can use this mod to go back to vault 111 and revive my spouse after i pick up curie.
