This fallout has the most horrible dialogue in any fallout game
its so ♥♥♥♥♥ simplistic. its like bethesda are pandering to toddlers who don't understand anything above a 3rd grade vocabulary.

Well Sturges' voice actor is far from being bad, first time I played I expected him to be a companion like Raul since he was decently voice acted, and a mechanic too. Even laughed a bit at the "my door is open" line. Didn't hear he had Mexican origins though

Anyway just trying to do some justice for NV. Kind of tired reading bs from both "cults"
Both sides are pretty bad, I just like poking sticks at the really courageous defenders of the series that will spew just about anything they can to place it on a pedestal..but in all honestly, It's still one of my favorite fallout (and game) that I've ever played...it just needed more time, but that never came to fruition because of Obsidian's internal management pushing for an early release and the constant heckling of Avellone.

If you see me in the new vegas forums doing that kind of thing, I'm just there to see how many buttons I can push ;)
Glad to read that seriously, why can't people just enjoy both games for what they are anyway. There's bad & good in both, but overall they're extremely pleasant gaming experience.
I wish Bethesda & Obsidian actually fusionned into one company so we could get both good sides in a single game. Instead of having their "internal" feud or w/e is going on between them

Most of those criticizing both seem like they rushed through MQ or never actually played them, and based their opinions on ♥♥♥♥♥♥ videos like that outside xbox channels.
What's next, watchmojo's views on Fallout series & kotaku hindsights ? Like if actually playing those games and making their own opinion is overrated for some reason.

At least there's some peeps like the Storyteller doing justice to all fallout games.

True. But they're the "closest" characters if you know what I mean
Just for the feels

PS : Not turning into Flippy
To Sturge's VA's credit, they're actually the same nationality as Trejo, but they put on a more "southern" accent, something not native to them and I think they did..alright? at least trying to fit the looks of the character.
But when you're against someone with plenty of acting experience like Danny Trejo they're going to be the stronger act..just depending on the lines they're given.

If you want them not putting on an act, they were Jetstream Sam in Metal Gear Revengeance and did a great job.
They're also Officer Edwards from Vault 81..but I'll hold judgement.

Jetstream Sam was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome!

If you're a fan of pop culture and retro time-locked dialogue then Fallout 2 is filled to the brim with it.
Fallout 1 has a more "serious" dialogue system but some humor to it, where as 2 is just 80% humor 20% "Oh no, slavery!"

Part of that was the lead made the culture references in fallout 1 limited. The rule was "it has to be invisible if they don't get the reference" So you could add an in joke, but it had to stand on it's own. Fallout 2 was just throw it all in the pot and stir it.

Imagine F4, but every option is B: Sarcastic.
F2 dialogue in a nutshell.
Hey Pho, thanks for reminding me how fast the terminals loaded in NV as compared to FO4. What were they thinking by slowing them to the current crawl? (and yes, I know they can be sped up but it doesn't change the question)

The "terminals" in New Vegas aren't a physical thing, It's just a menu.
In Fallout 4 you're actually pressing your head near it, and it's why you can get "stuck" in the terminal running more than 60fps, and why it's "slower" because your PC motions to look at it.

You don't know what I'm talking about but need to throw in some word salad anyway. The text fills the ingame terminal (CRT) screen faster in NV. Just watch Pho's links. Be sure to tell me I misused the term "loaded" .

And Pho, the terminal design is fine but you need to kick up that network speed in FO4 - it's dialup city man!. And that's why we need net neutrality. Obviously the NCR is paying for an upgraded network whereas those Commonwealth folks are so divided they end up with turtlenet.

So for all the folks that went with BoS did they kick up the network speeds in the Commonwealth after taking over or did they keep it all to themselves and continue their familar technology hoarding ways?!

I always use subtitles in games for that reason lol would rather read what they are saying instead of trying to hear it

Ask some of the Grade 3 kids in your class to help you........

Click on the terminal screen... it loads nearly instantly rather than the slow scrawl.. especially handy when trying to crack a hard or master terminal
