If Curie can be transferred into a humanoid body, why can't Nick?
When visit the Institute, there should be a quest to steal an empty gen3 synth body to transfer the mind of Nick into it so that Nick can lose the gen1 look. Such wasted potential.

He has no interest in changing.

there was nothing of that sort. He never have a choice.

One issue (not touched on with Curie) is how to be sure that you're actually transferring their mind instead of just making a copy. Given Nick's personal conflict with how he relates to his own original, that would probably be a big concern for him.

True. Zero reasons to not have two divergent Curies.

They don't have empty bodies lying around. Only the Railroad has those, and even then just a handful.

And if you think you can convince Institute eggheads of anything, well...

Use Ctrl X instead of Ctrl C /joke

Tho I do think it boils down to that. copy and then delete original. Certainly in case of Curie / Nick since their minds are stored on a computer and not living tissue (tho the later is also pretty easy to destroy)

that's why I said the word "steal"

So, you're advocating for a mind-wipe here?

I ask this, because it is clear Nick can connect to Kellog's brain with a little help, and Doc Amari can do brain transfer for Curie. I think they actually have this body-hijacking technology.

dennis.danilov the synths were made without memory or personality, sure can find one empty synth for Nick, it is very logical assumption.

But is it really a transfer, or are they just making a copy?

There's also the possibility that Nick has something unusual in his hardware, since his particular setup of Gen 2 mechanical hardware with a human-equivalent mind is shared only by DiMA. Most of the Gen 2 synths don't seem to be quite at a human level of intellect, while the Gen 3 synths that are at that point are almost entirely biological (we don't know what kind of brain Mr. Carter had, just that some of his internal parts were mechanical).

Actually, why the hell I cannot give Codsworth a humanoid body is what I am starting to wonder too. One should not think too much about this whole thing I guess, hah.

I ask this, because one of the plot of automatron is talking about the robots have organic brain too, and the one beside Ada that can speak, the robobrain or whatever it called, clear has human brain. I think robot mind can actually be transferred into synthetic brain and vice versa

Robobrains like Jezebel do indeed have an organic brain, though technically they should probably be considered cyborgs instead of robot since they've got that organic component.

There's another consideration for Nick Valentine, though, since one of his dilemmas is distinguishing himself as a separate person from the original Nick. Getting a Gen 3 synth body would be like trying to turn himself into that earlier Nick, and I don't think he wants that.

This is the "Star Trek Transporters were Suicide Machines." arguement. Who cares? Fantasy game logic, especially Fallout logic, absolutely requires suspension of disbelief on so many levels.

Citation very much needed. They walk and talk the second they step out of the nutrient bath. Hell, there's even a synth greeter for them.
