Ballistic Weave Help
I've done my fair share of railroad quests, (last one I did was escorting a synth in the night), but I cannot for the life of me get drummer boy to give me the quest chain to obtain the ballistic weave. Please tell me if there is some hidden required quest for the chain to happen

Update: drummer boy came to me and told me PAM wanted to speak to me. when I got to her, she said: "communication unavailable. Security mode on." or something along the lines of that. Is my game bugged or does PAM just hate steelies?

Update 2: Annnnd I have tactical thinking. Might have to console command this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I wish there was some other way to get such a powerful item

PAM's first quest she gives is to unlock Mercer safehouse. After you clear the settlement out and do the caretaker's quest it will free PAM to start your DIA cache quests that.

Sometimes the ballisitic weave unlock doesn't happen with Tinker Tom regardless. I haven't figured out the exact combination of states that cause this. It only seems to happen when I have several railroad quests complete and cash them all in at once.

Outside of some mod adding it the RR quest is the only way.

Console command that you change a value from 0 to 1 which then allows it.

set RailroadClothingArmorModAvailable to 1

Why anyone wants a mod to do something a console command can do I dont understand.

1) Unless modded survival mode would not allow that command to be used so it is not always an option

2) A mod could add another means of gaining the weave such as a different quest not just simply execute a command changing the variable turning it on.

Other than that yes if one simply wants to activate the weave and has access to the console to issue the command there would be no reason to use a mod for it.

Really, going to nitpick an answer just because someone gave the right answer? Let me nitpick you answers.

If you are playing survival with mods then you are a special kind of person to be playing without the console enabled.

That is alternate quest content, not a mod to simply enable the ballistic weave.

I simply answered your question of WHY someone might want to use a mod rather than just activate it via console.

You can try mod call Ballistic Weaver - Get it without Railroad. If trouble or difficult with Jackpot missions quest.

thanks, but I'm not really interested in downloading mods. I should be fine though, I'm going with the brotherhood so armor really isn't that big of a deal (paladin power armor is dope)

IF you do not want to use a mod and have access to the console then Bored Peon's solution in post 18 of changing that variable would fix the issue and give the ballistic weave without having to use a mod.

It's been said already but you get it from PAM. Her second quest I believe. Maybe third.
