I myself turned them off after about 5 hours, because imo the game looks better without them. I’d say keep on on for now walk around downtown boston during the day and see how your performance is and how the area looks. If you like it and have solid frames keep em if not get rid of them. If you really like the rays you can also turn them down to low and get a less of a performance hit while they only look a little worse; sometimes not even noticeable.

Unless your PC is guilt with top-of-the-line parts from the early 2020's - just turn them off.

Godrays are nice but we've lived without them this long and they're a massive resource hog and, frankly, not worth the FPS hit.

At least just turn them to low.

I would Yes, cause its heavy on performance, and any other setting of godrays will make it blocky

You can't disable it completely in the launcher though it only allows setting it to low, so open the fallout4prefs.ini located here:

C:\Users\ windows account \Documents\My Games\Fallout4

and change this setting

bVolumetricLightingEnable=1

to

bVolumetricLightingEnable=0
