reward for vault 88?
is there an7y reason to work on vault 88 other than to build your own vault? like is there a cool weapon or powerarmor set or perk at the end of it? I know vault 88 is massive and its fun to build a vault I just don't care because there are so many other freacing settlements.

i personally dont work on building a vault down there. i do the very first objective where you disable the security lockdown and complete the first quest. Then i kill the overseer and get the vault tec blueprints. Thats all i'm there for is the blueprints....however, i usually find a good amount of legendary equipment from the creatures while doing the quest for exploring vault 88.

The vault is an amazing source of nuclear material, too. You can break down radioactive waste barrels, or the tons of uranium in the cave walls, floors, and ceiling.

The rewards are the technology you build with the overseer and a unique vault suit. Also i like the fact that it is a closed cell where i can build like the homeplate in diamond city.

I'm with you. Vault 88 is a big meh. I took a long time to work my way down to that area. Level 60+. I did the whole thing, all the experiments, explored everywhere. Then .. This is it? Just a big hole? I relocated the settlers and never looked back.
I usually target Vault 88 test for peoples happiness, so stuff I get from Vault quest will affect settlement happiness.....

Yep it can be connected to the supply lines and has alot of really great workshop items and fun to explore. A vey good dlc.
I like the Vault sieges, which can be very entertaining to watch.

I really hate where they put Vault 88 though. Even the secret entrances can get you killed if a vault invasion is in progress, and the main entrance makes you eat some rads.

Speaking of getting killed, the super mutant mod i am using is crazy. Had to abandon Starlight settlement when 3 of them attacked, and there was 4 turrets up and 2 settlers on this new play through. Not sure if they are bugged, but they would not go down. :) Barely got away alive.

I hope its not a bug because super mutants are awsome now and a great challenge.

This is the mod. "Supermutants Shall Inherit The Earth".

What is the superior species? Say it with me, SUPAH MUTANTS! The superior race shall take over the wasteland, but not if they are as pitiful as Bethesda left them. This mod buffs super mutants in a variety of ways, making them stronger and giving them access to more weapons and armor!

I just seen they regenerate. That was the problem. Me and my crew are just to weak, got to do some upgrading before running into them again.

Use the mod that places the enemy spawns to the main entrance.

This way when it does get attacked it's easier to kill them quick with your defenses in one area and you can always sneak in the back ways with a private entrance to get around that.

Granted you won't need to use the mod if you did not scrap the 2 wood walls that let you use the other entrances but this makes things easier.

If you didn't want to build a vault, why would you get the Vault-Tec Workshop DLC, which is a workshop DLC focused on vault stuff?

Few points.

1) If I was gonna cheat and use a mod that makes them sitting ducks, I would juse use /kill tbh. Half the fun is creating layered defenses to combat flanks.

2) You didn't read my other points. It's not that I can't find them, it's that they spawn at the entrance, and just kind of sit there, which means when you go to deal with the assault, you get gangbanged during the load transition.

The mod will fix that by letting you come in the other way to get in safely as that seems an issue for you.

Remember it is a vault so being able to defend it with proper defenses at the entrance makes sense.

A vault suit with 15% damage resistance vs ghouls, all the vault settlement stuff you can use anywhere and Clem(If you don't kill him).

Honestly, I really like the giant underground settlement. It doesn't have to be a vault either. Have some fun with it. I put a wooden shack and a bar down by the pumping station in my last playthrough.

In one of my games, I made it a shanty town filled exclusively with ghoul settlers, and deliberately avoided using almost all of the vault parts (I used some of the experiment items, like the slot machines).
