Valdacil's Item Sorting - Force rename?
After a Hiatus without it, got Valdacils Item Sorting working with Immersive Gameplay (Which includes partial, but incomplete functionality).

The good new is it properly tags and renames new items and items I have modded. The bad news is I have a huge number (Hundreds, possibly thousands) of items I would have to 'mod' in order to get everything together and properly sorted. And of course, not all items are moddable

In Unix there's a 'touch' command that just updates a files last update time. I'm wondering if there's any way to 'touch' the items in my inventory and institute an auto rename so that everything is named in a consistent fashion, or if I need to just give in to the OCD impulse to add/remove mods from everything?

From what I remeber vis on its home page or comments sections, tells you how to do this, but is a bit tedious.

Remove all the weapons and armour without tags and names then drop them on the ground, making sure you are in your setllement of course, then go into workshop mode and store all those items, that should update all the sorting stuff on them, well it should anyway I think.

Thanks - tedious, a bit, but *way* less tedious than going through and modding items one at a time. I'll verify the result and get back.

Thanks

It's not a perfect solution; for some reason it worked pretty consistently on armor, but weapons might rename, or might rename one of a stack, or might not rename at all, but of the two Armor was very much the more important concern due to the number of things like glasses, hats, et al you can't mod at all. It worked consistently enough on weapons to 'mostly' sort similar items together.

Yeh, not too sure why the weapons side of it is a bit odd, I think it is due to the instance naming rules used by the weapons mods though whether that is true or not I am not too sure.

Though if some of the armour has not renamed and sorted it might be worth while loading that mod into xedit and checknig to see what the instance naming attached to the items are, it may be they do not have one.
