Strange texture randomly appear on my screen
I'm not sure what is the proper title for this. Basically, my problem[imgur.com]. When I randomly looked at the ground, some strange texture appeared on my screen. It went away when I looked away.

I used to have problem with lighting, but it wasn't because of screen ratio since I play on 1366x768 laptop screen. I managed to fix it by setting bComputeShaderDeferredTiledLighting=1 to 0 (if that even the cause of this). I also recently tweaking stuff based on this except I'm not using afterburner, instead I use ENB (without graphics modification).

Later, I found out it was because I turned off godrays. But I don't like playing with godrays. It seems that the land/grass textures somehow loaded into my screen whenever I look at it. Any idea how and why it happened?

your screenshot looked fine. Im having a similar problem to what you described. I will try turning on godrays.

I'm impressed someone actually replied my 3 years old topic. I have already forgot that I also asked this on Steam.

I asked on Reddit (and my post removed twice because I didn't post load order so I didn't get much replies. But I believed that wasn't the case). Long story short, it was because of ENB.

Makes sense. Also, could you look at some screenshots to see if we have the same problem? You can find them here:

No, it might be a different case. In my case, when I looked at the ground (only at the ground) a strange texture appear, translucent, in your entire screen. As if your screen was dirty. But when I looked away (at the sky for example) it disappeared. Your case specifically looks like failed 3D render. Don't quote me on that though.

What can be done about it?

Update drivers, Clean uninstall old ones first?

Or yeah GPU is just dying.

Is a gpu the same as a PCI Express card?

Yeah those screenshots are form an incompatible graphics card or a dying one.

That sucks... tbh I am using intel(r) hd graphics... can anyone supply me a driver download link?

That would be a built in graphics card, which is definitely not good enough to meet the minimum requirements. No driver is going to fix that.

From the store page minimum requirements:
Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 550 Ti 2GB/AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB or equivalent

If i buy a PCIe card, will that boost the graphics power?

That always depends on the gpu you buy and i'm not talking about if is a Nvidia or AMD gpu, i'm talking about the power of the GPU, some low level (low price) pcie GPU's, aren't better than a built in one from Intel, no matter who made it, a 60 euros GPU will not be a good gaming GPU, compared to a 200€ or above one.
But now, any pcie gpu good for that game, are very expensive, prices are very inflated because of the pandemic and the mining craze, a 200€ GPU, two years ago, is now 400€ or more, so now IMO, is not the best time to buy GPU's, the best thing you can do, is to bring game settings and resolution down for the game and wait, unless the GPU is going bad (that looks like it) in that case you have no choice.

Some things I recommend for you and people with low end GPU's:

Don't play with anti-aliasing on (unless is using FXAA or MLAA), SSAA or MSAA (look on google to know what those mean) remove jaggies (stair case effect) but are very heavy for the GPU, specially low end ones.
In the worst case, play at a lower resolution, for example, if your monitor is 1920x1080, play the game at 1440x900, that will make the image worse but the game will run faster, and you get used to it.
Disable any screen effects like Bloom, God rays, motion blur, color aberration, etc, those need better GPU's.
If the game has the option on the settings, bring the game view distance down, games with large view distances need more powerful GPU's.
Always mess with the game graphical settings, turn on and off things and test, see what works for you, never let the game chose automatically, more times than not the game automatic settings are wrong.

but my monitor displays in 1440 by 900

it says hd 7870 is minimum but i had a 7850 with a hardmodded bios (by me ;) and halved core + mem speed and it was working almost at 60 fps..

just saying.
