Fallout 4
Mod conflicts forever.... the woes of decorating
So, I started a new game after.... 3 years(?) and I'm starting to see why I stopped playing altogether.

At first, my goal was just minimal mods to prevent the madness that happened so long ago with trying to have Homemaker and SSEX....

So, just the unofficial patch, the MLP mod, No Holotape Texture, Just Some Rugs/Curtains to keep myself from going crazy.
I also got Start Me Up because I will shoot myself if I have to do the Concord mission one more time out of the gate and need to start as far away from Sanctuary as humanly possible.

Except my friend said I needed sim settlements and, well.... that was enough.
Then I needed better floors.... clearly. And walls.... Might as well start up the old habit of collecting boxes.

So now that I have 15 more deco mods and have rescued all the companions, I noticed that my "shelf" category had entirely dissappeard.

....well that's new. Usually its structures tab.
Download 5 more mods to try to fix my lack of shelves, get my vanilla shelves back (by starting a new game entirely) only to discover I am now missing the vanilla container in the upper left of this screenshot.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=573540034

And just that container so far. Has anyone else just had a few vanilla items gone missing from tabs?

If you're curious, here's the mods I'm running with that screw with deco (in load order) Maybe someone can help me spot which mod has stolen this container:
Sim Settlements
HUd Framework
Settlement Keywords
Building Blocks Foundations
Just Some Rugs
Repair The Castle
MLP Plushies Mod
Vault 88 More Vault Rooms
Clean and Simple (Collection)
Madkea
Do It Yourself Clutter
Craftable Display Shelves
CatDeco Floors and More
Half Width Shack Walls
Modern Magazine Shelf
Functional Objects Overhaul

Have you gone through those records in xEdit to see if they have been overwritten or not carried through?
Never done that before, but I'll look into that. Hopefully it's a straighforward process. Looks handy, thank you.
Since your particular mod fetish includes a lot of graphical items rather than non-rendered stuff would you mind sharing your system specs?
I was forced to turn off SS's clutter and animations plus avoid manually adding other graphically taxing items to my settlements. My GTX 970 was starting to balk. Next time around I'll likely keep settlement populations down at 20 rather than in the 30 range. All the infrastructure to support those settlers comes at a cost.
Aw dude. All those mods and you missed out on the free giveaway CC arcade machines. That adds wall-to-wall carpets. Oh, the horror. :steamhappy:
Have you downloaded the program "LOOT"?

Win10
Intel Core i7-5930K @3.5GH 16384RAM
GTX 1080Ti (only one. :( )

I actually had to install and run ENB to get a framerate limiter because I was stuck at 144 frames via monitor.... not fun.

I have run LOOT.

Thx for the feedback - I've seen several negatives on 1080/1080ti's regarding overheating and wonder what brand you have. The Founders editions seem to have the most issues due to their cooling solutions being of minimalist design.
Ah, pardon. Didn't realize other manufacturers had them. I use Nvidia.
Take a look at Settelment Markers to add to your collection :)
No OCDecerator? thats a standard.

I know what causes the missing items in crafting.

Could be one of 3 things:

-You're missing a mod that is required.
-You're missing a patch that makes the mods work together.
-Your load order isn't correct.

That is imo the likely course to fix your issue.

( I've had the same problem in the past. Also some mods just don't work with other mods when it comes to building stuff. Find those compatibility patches.

I believe OCDeorator has the brown wood crates as shown in the screenshot.

I don't want a single mod to have them because I want to collect them myself. I was very sad when they were finally modded in and could be cheated for.
I was so proud of collecting them because at the time, they were the only item in the game that couldn't be modded in or console commanded in. More than that, they can't go in your inventory and had to be carried to a single spot. That screenshot right there was from a very happy first year of play.

Also, one of the mods does have markers for idle things... Functional Objects?

Started a new game and had both shelving units and every mod where it's supposed to be so it's none of those and sadly is the easiest course of action to fix my problem. *grits teeth* it's not like I was that far, jsut gotta go get all the companions... again.

I first got Settlement Markers because it has scheduling for NPCs. I was looking for something so provisioners dont slog back and forth 24/7. But it also has some really cool gradens stuff and a swimming pool among other features. The only feature of OCDecerator I use is the ability to anchor items rhat cannot be knocked over.

I can tell you what your conflict is:

Vault 88 More Vault Rooms

And

Functional Objects Overhaul

Both modify vanilla build objects to make them do something functional.

I'm not as familiar with FOO, but More Vault Rooms adds happiness generation to deco items and makes the old vending machines functional and produce food and water.

Try disabling one or the other and seeing if that helps.
Thank you so much. I really appreciate your time. I'll turn off the vault thing since it's less useful.
