How does Transdogrifier work?

I equip it on Dogmeat and nothing happens. im craft it on armory workbench to.
restart the game and doesnt work....

I've never heard that before and I've being playing this game since launch day . If it's a mod item then you got to your NMM and disable or delete the mod item then go back to a previous save

Otherwise you have to completely reinstall your game . I've had that happen quite a few times before and i know what it's like have your game break like that

Make sure you set it to something other than the standard settings in the workbench, otherwise you'll just be giving Dogmeat the default appearance that he already has.

It's not actually equipped on him in that second screenshot, is it? It's just in his inventory.

Sorry if it seems like I'm checking really obvious things, but I like to make sure it's not something simple being overlooked.

Thank you for this - had it in his inventory but wasnt "equipped" - still works with the update
