Scrap everything / Spring Cleaning Performance tip
Don't use them

Im sure many of you already know this, but for anyone (like me yesterday) who doesn't..

These mods inject bUseCombinedObjects=0 to your INI settings and this is hella bad for fps, its basically the oposite of insignifigant object remover.

Bethesda default settings combine multiple objects into single objects, by disabling this function you massively increase object loading numbers ESPECIALLY in places like downtown.

I noticed a big jump after I diabled it.

Neither of the mods require the INI-setting. Both mods will disable Precombined meshes for settlements.

You can leave the INI-setting as 0. In that case nothing disables precombineds for areas outside of settlements.

Could depend on the mod. I've had some places kill my computer. It's good to know there's a potential culprit to consider disabing to see if it helps in certain areas.

What I would REALLY want is a "scraps everything for you" option for when you take a new location into settlement mode for the first time. It's a major waste of time doing every piece manually.

Yea i could be wrong, was just looking through the spring cleaning files and found this

looked pretty indiscriminate to me, the author of boston fps fix was pretty adamant that line not be messed with so i was looking around to see if anything else was having that effect.

I have been using spring cleaning from day one, and have never had any issues. far as scrap scrap im not sure, how ever spring cleaning offers an ini version which is the one that will probably change the ini file or string.

I have also read up on something that its actually better for fps, because it gets rid of clutter and other objects thus once you have "cleaning the objects" your pc and gpu no longer has to render them,

I can vouch for that Scrap everything mod, it does NOT disable pre-combined meshes by default and people keep complaining about it, it is not fair !!

sorry but you could probably be wrong about this. Because you assume what you scrapped is more than what you did not scrap after the pre-combined meshes are unlocked, which in most cases is the other way round. The pre-combined meshes cover a lot of things you cannot see or hardly aware of, it will almost be impossible to scrap more than all the extra things that pre-combined meshes let go of to make your cell load any faster than when it was not disabled before.

No issues here with Spring Cleaning. Still a solid 60 fps with quite a few graphic mods after 26 hours(overgrowth, vivid textures, vivid weathers, etc). I don't use scrap everything so I assume that's the culprit. Seems bunny de fluff is the minority, probably has a beefy rig(I have an avg rig).

To clarify: Scrap Everything does disable PreCombined meshes, but only for settlements it edits. Not globally.

When you think about it, most people get Scrap Everything to scrap everything so all those extra meshes get removed anyways.

"scrapall" console command will take care of that for you. Just be sure not to have Scrap Everything activated when you use the command, or else you'll probably delete the floor underneath you lol
