Fallout 4 at 180hz?
Is it possible to play this game at that frame rate? Or will it break the engine it's my refresh rate by the way

never tried that high, I am only on 144hz and I don't have any serious problems with it, fast dialog being the only one but I use subtitles so its not a big deal.

I don't want anything sped up there's no way to work around that?

Not really no its the way the game engine is.

just be sure that you keep vsync on in game, and are using adaptive vsync in nvidia control panel, it will stop most of the high fps problems, but not all of them like the dialog one

Game goes bonkers over 100FPS. Breaks Catastrophically over 150.

90 is the max you should go, and even that runs some risks.

It's a trait of the Creation Engine. Skyrim is the same, these games were originally developed with the consoles and their limitations in mind. Be happy it's 60 fps at all, on the consoles they target 30... By the way 180 Hz is a very odd refresh rate. What's your monitor?

I know of 240 Hz displays mostly using an AU Optronics TN panel (Alienware AW2518H series are most famous for this - incidentally, it's the one I might be buying soon), but 180 Hz? Never seen one. "165Hz" displays like the PG278Q or PG279Q (notoriously one of the very fastest IPS displays to date) are actually overclocked 144Hz panels...

(very likely a ROG Swift PG248Q... which changes the question, do you like it? seems affordable enough, which places my soonish upgrade choices between it, the AW2518HF and the BenQ Zowie XL2411P)

The VR version resolved the issue, and can do 90 without problems though. (I think? haven't played it myself)
