Radium Riffles?...
Why so many?...

I have visited FH one time, since visiting I have gotten Radium Riffles on legndary drops for 80% of my weapon drops.

I have so many legendary radiums I am getting sick and tired of picking them up. Would love a nice legendary .38 pipe weapon or the likes but no, just radium after radium...

Anyone else also getting radiums as the standard drop?

Yeah, I get lots of Radium Rifles, definitely not 80% but seems way more statistically high than it should be.

It hink this might be because Radium Rifles and other DLC weapons aren't restricted the same way other legendaries are. That is, most legendaries drop off enemies in a certain level range (IE, for the best chance to get .38 pipe guns, you'll want to farm lvl 17 and lower enemies) but Handmade Rifle, Radium Rifle etc have no such restriction, and can drop on any legendary encounter.

hmm

That would explain the few lever actioans I seem to get when I am not getting radiums...

So far, without even looking and just going form top of my head, I have cryo, incendiary, penetrating, resillient, junkie and explosive radiums...

To many when I have only two other legendary firearms (plasma shotgun, resillient 10mm) and a souple mele...

:(

I have gotten a 2 shot radium rifle on multiple play throughs. You do not even need to visit Far Harbor to get those legendaries it added.

The script info looks like it's adding the radium rifle to the levelled list "LGND_PossibleLegendaryItemBaseLists_GunGroupHigh" with a level requirement of 19, so there shouldn't be anything particularly special about it in that regard.

I've seen a reasonable number of radium rifles, but it didn't seem especially high compared to anything else. I'm more bothered by the various crappy legendary prefixes they added to dilute the pool of useful ones.

I know, I was super suprised to see the junkie one tonight...

I live paycheck to paycheck, and though I eventualy own every bethesda game, sometimes I have to make due in less reputable ways. Till the holiday sales I was still on a pirated version w/o any add ons or the likes, and only patched to 1.2...

Lets just say that buying and installing a fully patched up and DLC'd up main game on steam was like a whole new game. Jumping from 1.2 retail release to this, wow. Lots of new things, tons of new suprises.

You will always get legendaries for the Builds you are not running. Running a Melee Build I have 2 Shot Guns/Rifles I would have killed for with a Gun Build. When I am running a gun build I get melee weapons at twice the rate I get Guns.

Grass is always greener.

I never gave the settler molotovs cocktels but when red rod was attaked shortly after I started a settlement there, (good thing I had a save before I settleed it the first time it was wiped out), by a 2 little ball like robots a mr gutsy 2 man type (i think htey were assotons) and 3 people, I had only 3 settlers no sentry guns so I emmitity used a the flare gun after about 20 or 30 seconds the minutemen showed up to help kill them. I only lost one settler and one minuteman but I lost 3 minutemen from friendly fire molotovs cocktells that they used. I saw one of them throw on and it hit the barrier he was by and he burned himself to death. the 2 that died from the attackers died after the sentry bot blew up. I did not think there would be such large and deadly raids by the game so early I was at that time level 15

This is Fallout; the grass is always dead, and the animals are greener.
If the legendary drops are so repetitive as you describe, here's a couple of uses you could give any leftovers:
- fully upgrade and give them to some settlers in your main settlements (weapons inflicting radiation damage will make short work of any human attack band that gets anywhere near your towns);
- sell them (legendaries usually make lots of caps);
- add an effect you like more using amod <legendary modifier refid>;

Radiums drop mid to late in the game based on levels...just like all gear.....

Pipe rifles tend to drop early on.....

Yes yes, it still is RNG but in my simple observations it is mixed with level...Most mobs mid to late in the game are not using pipe rifles.......

I play a heavily mod'ed game with 2 mods that increase varieties. Even so I get a large amount of vanilla guns from legendary mobs too....

EDIT: Every settler in my game will have top end gear......because I have mod that allows them to be attacked and makes them mortal.....

10 grenades, top end weapons and heavy armor of all types........but they all wear colonial armor.....i love that mod that allows you to loot the mannequins in the museum and other places........tricorn hates and radium guns coupled with 10 greanades and 20 stim packes each.....

I am seeing streaks of any given gun. It is usually tied to a perk line so 5 or 6 revolvers followed by 5 or 6 heavy guns. It's good for ammo use, to get a variety and anything beats another irradiated rolling pin but there are times you wish it was paying attention to what you use now and give you a variant of that perk line.

I read some stuff about robot attacks and Automatron that might apply here. The gist of it seemed to be that the DLC level lists had an equal chance of being drawn for things as vanilla, but because they contain fewer items you get more repeats from them.

I've gotten Radium Rifles as early as level 13, but there might be something else at play, is it using Player level or enemy level? (Enemy level probably? because I've never gotten one on a low-level enemy, only 20+)
