Fallout 4 Power armor issues, map and inventory not visible

Hey, i am looking for a little bit of help here. I have taken 3 screen shots of the issues that i am having (not sure if i can attach them here). The first issue is that my power armor parts are floating and missing. Not quite attached to the power armor frame.

Second issue, when i hit my inventory key i cannot see anything in my inventory. the only thing on my screen is "X) Inspect R) Drop Q) Fav F) Sort T) Level up". The same thing happens when i try and look at my map. No map shows on my screen just the 4 options at the bottom of the screen "Mouse 1) Place Marker R) Local Map C) Show Supply Lines T) Level up"

I have verified game files, when that didn't work I deleted the game and reinstalled it. To no avail.

Any input would be appreciated.

You have 60 hours into the game. What's changed that could have caused that? Install any new mods lately???

i have not changed anything. i tried to boot it up yesterday and things got all weird. I dont have any mods installed. But i do have a few of the DLC's.

Ok, no mods Ever.

Try going to Documents/My Games/Fallout 4. Then delete the Fallout4.ini and the Fallout4Prefs.ini. Do Not delete the Fallout4Custom.ini. Then verify the game files and launch the game from your library. That will create new .ini's and Should fix it.


The way you explained your issue did not make me think of this until now. Go to the game's options menu, then advanced and set Ambient Occlusion to HBAO+. See if that helps.[That is assuming you have an Nvidia GPU]

thanks for your attempts at helping. But neither of those ideas have solved my issues. I do have a GTX 1070 if that makes a difference.

the second part sounds hard like one of the PA bugs, but not sure what kind of the 3. when u can use u pipboy as long u are in a PA and only cant use it when out of it its one of the 3 Bugs. 2 are solveable (to long to explain and many many many ppl have done this already in many many many already existing threads here to this theme: "pipboy invisible" as example to search) . if u have got the third kind of this bug u are shafted as long u dont have a save from BEFORE u entered the bugged out frame first time that caused this. because the third kind of this bug cant get fixed even with console, only help than is to load a save from before entering the frame and never ever touch that special frame again in the playthrough.

Hi, thank you for your help. going back to a previous save seems to have solved my issues. I deleted the saves that had a bug and it only cost me about an hour of game play. thank you for your tips they were very helpful!

is it something wrong with that particual side mission that was giving me issues? should i avoid that quest all together?

the bug ls in the Power Armor Frame, not in a quest. the 2 Solveable kinds are a matter of the game somehow duplycate the frame, so it still thinks u are in a frame when u left u PA and does funny stuff when u try to use u pipboy. than u can identify and kill the double frame with the console. the third kind somehow freaks out when u entered a bugged PA Frame first time and than when u run around without a PA u pipboy is only blank with the button explanations. the PA frames that cause that are faulty from start on. so if u stumble over such a frame, let it stand where it is, strip the armor parts and the FC from it, and never enter it. mostly Atomcat frames show this problem. got it onetimes myself in a survival run, and was lucky that the oldest of the 3 rotating saves was from before i entered the frame. (was a strange thing in a whole, cait left the PA after i sleeped ina settlement, when in compenion mode and she refuse to reenter it again. i thought she was jsut blocked from entering, so i entered the frame myself to bring it in a better porsition for here, and the trouble started. after that whenever i get a new frame i enter it fast and hope out again to check if pipboy still works so i dont loose gametime with reloads)
