can't build generators

so i did a alternent start mod and did not do the quest "out of time" (because i feel this quest ruins the game by giving you power armor and a settlement full of people and houses and makes the game to easy) and the game wont let me build power generators or water pumps or farms is there a console comand that can fix this

Thats odd.. because i usually start to setup a room for me in sanctuary before i leave it the first time and so far i always had access to all generators i had the perks for.

So its probably your mod? I mean ok i talked with codsworth after arriving in sanctuary.. but i dont think avoiding your pre war butler locks power generators from the workshop menu..

But what do mean with a settlement full of people and houses even though you want to build farms? You cannot plant and care for crops yourself, they wont grow fruits unless a settler is working at them.

Nothing to do with alternate start check that you have Settlement keywords and the like etc.

What else is missing from the build menu? Everything except dlc items should be there (for the most part). What other mods do you have? And do any of them add anything to the build menu? Can you build beds and the settler beacon? If you can't build those, then I'd say that you have to do the mission to complete the settlement buildning tutorial. But, I don't remember having this issue when I built up my Sanctuary before I did the mission. If you have any mods that add items to the build menu, some of them can remove default items or tabs entirely. If that's the case, you will need a fixit mod to recover your build menu.

I do have settlement key words expanded and settlement manager menue could it be that they are conflicting

I can build beds and almost all of the other tabs are working and i have a lot of mods (over 100 i think) when i try to open the tabs that dont work my game crashes so i thing its some thing in there

ok i think i figured it out the SKE mod was woving every thing to a new tab thx guys

O.K. . . .losing your build menu sux! And its kind of a pain to get it back. Glad you figured it out : )
