I can't get nick valentine to idolize me

I have been going around gaining affinity points with nick, and everytime i check his affinity in the console, it always say 999. So then i try to do something that he likes, still 999, then i do something he loves., still 999. then i try setting it to 1000, then i do something he loves, then i check it, 999. Can i please have some help

Don't you have to complete his personal quest to get him to max affinity? Pretty sure you have to complete that and you'll get him to max.

thats all i have been doing, and ive helped out austin in vault 81 (he loved that) and still nothing

His personal mission, to find and locate all Eddie Winter holotapes. If you are at such high affinity, then Nick should have given that mission long time ago.

oh yeah. it's just ive put it off for such a long time, i can't find it in my data, would it be under miscellaneous? and if so what would it say?

I don't recall if it was among main quests or side quests. The name of the quest is Long Time Coming.

He dose have some cases that needed to be resolve if you recalled it was offered to you after you rescued him from his V#######....

The quest is offered once the player character's affinity level with Nick Valentine reaches 750, and they have completed the quest Dangerous Minds.
