This didn't work but I fortunately figured it out.
SOLUTION
Once you get between the 2 doors use "tcl" in the console and return to the door that leads back to the outside section of the gauntlet. Re-enter and return between the 2 doors. Repeat until an objective "Defeat Colter" (or something like that appears). Make sure to first return between the 2 doors and go through the one that would supposedly have opened at this point to initiate the fight.
It's stupid how Bethesda's scripting can be so stupid in such an important section of the game. I hope there won't be any similar complications down the line in this dlc.
