Companions keeps repeating themselves?

It's getting kind of annoying at this point. My companions keep saying that same 2 or 3 lines repeatedly. It's usually location-specific dialogue. Like, when I'm teamed up with Preston and inside a dark building, he'll repeatedly say "Quite a lot of dust in here. Quite a lot of dust in here" over and over again. I tried downloading the unofficial patch hoping that may help, but it didn't. I've tried searching, but no one else seems to be having this problem.

Anyone know what's up?

Or if not, anyone know of any mods that'll just shut my companions up? They're driving me insane.

Yes. Known problem. I really hate it also. I do not know of any fix. Seems like there should be some mod for this.

That's unfortunate. I like the companion flavor text, but i'd be willing to just disable companion speech altogether if it'd bring me some peace.

There are mods for it. One is just for settlers, but I think it has a patch for companions as well. Search for "shut up" or similar phrases. I think there is one just for companions.
