Controller issues?
I am able to play this game with a keyboard and mouse but when I use my controller i cant select anything from the main menu because the scrolling moves extremely fast. I try to slightly press down on the thumbstick to select load and it flys down to the exit button. Any help is greatly appreciated.

*Close the game
*Unplug your controller
*Restart the game

I was having the same issue today after 8 months of not playing (where it worked fine back then), this fix worked for me:
1. In the Steam client go to the menu Steam -> Settings -> Controller -> General Controller
Settings
2. Make sure PS4/XBox Configuration Support is checked
3. Go to Big Picture mode and find Prey in you library
4. Click Mange Game -> Controller Options and uncheck Use Steam Configuration for Non-
Steam Controllers
5. Uncheck the setting from step 1 again, depending on whether it was checked in the first
place

If those don't work, try turning off the Steam Overlay. That's mainly a cure for the controller working through the steam launcher, but not F4SE bypass launcher. Also, if you're running Win10, it could have updated and reset some of your settings, like your drivers. You may need to roll back to an older video driver if those were updated ( doesn't always work. But, it's something to keep in mind).

Thank you for all the replies! I finally found the issue. I have a 144hz monitor and usually leave vsync off. Had to globally turn vsync on to fix the speed issue both in the menu and in the game.

That was going to be my next suggestion if the controller settings thing didn't work. I tried that myself but just doing that didn't fix it, so I guess for me it was a non issue.

Kinda stupid that FO4's engine speed is tied to FPS. No other game I know of does that; way to fail on yet another thing, Bethesda -_- XD

So true! Hopefully Fallout 76 wont be as bad but I think I may be too optimistic. haha

It's on the same engine as FO4 so.....probably won't be.
