Barney Rook Dead Question?! - Possible Spoilers

So, I finally made it to Salem. Last time I did this I showed up way after completing main game and all of the DLCs, and Barney was alive. This time I came over at lvl 45 and he's dead. I haven't ventured to Glowing Sea yet (I'm dreaidng it, I hate that area).

I was wondering if his death is scripted or is it random? It looks like he fell of the top of the roof to the one above his porch, but no was sthat shoud've killed him. And no way mirelurks could get to him, so I am confused...

Death of certain characters has always puzzled me - one can find Amelia Stockton dead sometimes in Taffington House, iirc, or one of the Warwicks can turn up dead. I am not sure how that happens, can someone enlighten me?

I also know that Wrwicks can get involved in a misc mission, but I never got a chance to do that. Either it never triggers OR they are already dead.

P.S. before I found Barney, i visited convalecent home in Salem, and when I exited the building, it popped "Deacon Hated It". I am not entirely sure what exactly cause him to hate me for smth. Did I kill Barney somehow not knowing it? I am very confused

One thing I've noticed, over multiple playthroughs: if I visit Salem past level 50-ish, Barney will be dead when I arrive. Could just be me though.

According to the Wiki: "Upon entering Salem, the player character may find Barney dead at the top of his house. Sometimes Barney's body falls down onto the overhang above the front door."

The death of Bill Sutton (Warwick Homestead) is scripted. As for Deacon's unfortunate reaction to you leaving the convalescent home, can't say I've heard of that. Do you use mods or custom content?

So, reason why I was surprised by Barney is because he actually has a quest that he rewards you with Reba II upon completion, and I have done that quest before, and I was like lvl 75 or smth at that point, that's why it caught me by surprise since this time around im lvl 47, and he's dead already. I mean you get Reba II by simply looting it anyways, but still, Barey was funny dude.

Bill Sutton, however, puzzles me. I've seen ppl conversing with him on YT vids, he mentiones smth about synths and fearing for his family or smth along the lines, but every time I'm trying to catch his misc objective or even just talk to him, I either cannot find him OR he turns up dead.

Also, does Amelia Stockton turn up dead if one ignores Covenant entirely prior to completing the main story oooor is it random? Pretty sure I found her dead last time around, but I have done Human Error in every playthrough but very first one.

As far as custom content, answer is no. I'm playing vanilla Fallout 4 with no mods or console commands use because I am hunting for remaining achievements.

I know what you mean~ most of the time, I'm able to get the quest, and Reba II, with no issues. But, on a couple of playthroughs that I've waited until later in the game to visit that area, he's always dead. Must just be that he has more time to fall to his death.

Can't say I've heard of the Amerlia Stockton glitch before, though I've encountered it with Bobbi No-Nose in Goodneighbor. Her corpse has a habit of turning up at Hawthorne Estate (near University Point), though I can't figure out why.

I did the same as you: no mods until I had all 84 achievements. There were a couple that took a while (Benevolent Leader and Eyes on the Prize were the worst, IMO), but I got them all... Best of luck to you!

I am going to look for Bobbi's body now, I am curious, wonder if it pops up for me :D

Thanks for wishing me luck. I have a long way ahead of me 'cause I will be doing RR and MM endings then reload and complete permanently with Brotherhood, then it's same thing on FH... I seem to have most troubles with misc achieveemnts such as Homerun. I did it twice and nothing happened. Gonna check out YT guides to see what I am doing wrong.
