What is the most fun sniper build?
Currently, I'm looking at the Hunter build by FudgeMuppet.

Also, does anyone know the key differences between FudgeMuppet's Hunter and Sharpshooter builds?

I guess the days of playing a game by oneself are long gone.
depends on how you want your character to progress. Min/max is boring in my eyes, I rather build up my character. Playing on survival, started with a 4 in everything, built up certain special stats for certain perks while still haven't really picked up those perks. currently lv 18 also. only perks I've put points in so far are local leader, blackwidow, lockpicking, sneak, hacking, and party girl. Most if not all the gear I have gotten is from drops or venders. I do however want to do crafting later down the road and put points into being a better sniper. But highly unlikely at lv 20 because it's way to easy atm even without getting weapon/combat damage buffs.

Except I have a save with my own builds on PC and PS4. No need to think yourself as above others because of an arbitrary preference.

No just snipe with the railgun (Gauss Rifle)

You know what they say about assuming.

What does this have to do with using other people's characters?

What am I assuming? You're coming at me saying that I'm not playing the game myself casue I want to experience other playstyles. Seems pretty close to you feeling superior over those who use builds.
IMO, the best sniper builds don't overly rely on the sneak skill. I just don't find it fun to be able to squat in plain site and rack crit after crit after crit. I like to be able to wait in ambush, pick off or severely cripple the most dangerous enemy with a devesatating sneak attack, and then frantically dart between cover points, taking shots when possible while being sprayed at. To that effect, I limit my character to 1/5 sneak skill perks if any. This also means there are some enemies you just can't sneak against. But that's half the fun too.

Very true. I can see the appeal of both sides. I haven't thought about your playstyle until now, very interesting. Almost all sniper builds I see are of the sneak and crit type, which I do love, but it's great to see some diversity. Thank you for the suggestion!
Full auto snipers.
They need suppressors to spam sneak attacks, working quite differently to traditional types. Allows low tier and/or non legendary weapons to show fantastic killing power at range, while remaining useful up close and are a lot of fun for mowing down hordes.

How about you watch and transcribe FudgeMuppet's videos, and then I will read the transcript and explain the difference to you because I don't feel like watching 1h+ of your videos.
Not so much a build per se but try using the railway rifle as a sniper rifle. The spikes have a flight time rather than hitting instantly which makes it more challenging. Plus pinning people to walls is always fun.

It's because I didn't catch a notable difference between the two builds. You fat prick.
No sneak perks and no scopes. Then you are a true survivalist.

Why stop there? No rifles, only 10mm pistol.
It's not much a sniper build with a short effective range pistol but if you max out gunslinger it really will extend your range a lot and it could be done. The basic and deliverer versions of the 10MM can both be tweaked to be effective late game weapons.
