Explosive shotgun farming question

can all legendary drop all weapons / armor or only some legendary ennemies can drop some weapons and some armor, cause im trying to get an explosive combat shotgun in the national guard training guard.

Any legendary enemy has the chance to drop any item. I've gotten legendary Disciple armor off a radroach for example.

I would suggest simply using a mod that lets you treat legendary effects like weapon mods to save yourself a few dozen hours of farming though. Then all you have to do is buy Spray n' Pray and move the legendary effect to a shotgun.

The chance of getting a specific weapon is very low, especially with all the DLC installed.
The odds of a legendary being a combat shotgun (at level 40+, with nukaworld and far harbor) is 1.40%. The odds of the legendary mod being explosive on a combat shotgun is 1 in 39.
So you will (on average) need to farm 2786 legendaries to get one...

If you want it badly you could try to spawn a bunch of racroaches by console command or install a mod that lets you change legendary effects.

You can farm for specific legendary items with specific mods. It invovles hard saving and autosaving. I think there is a thread on reddit. I haven't looked at it for a while though. It's easier to do with interior legendary enemies. And once you get your item, just keep in mind that the legendary won't spawn again for several weeks (in game). Exterior legendaries take a couple months (in game). And don't forget that you have to be a certain level to find certain weapons/armor. But, if I remember correctly, everything should be available by level 41.

or you can use console commands to spawn a combat shotgun, then use console commands to apply the explosive legendary efect to it. Cant remember the commands, but i did do that once.

You should've saved before you went in there, or saved at a bed in survival before you went in there.
