Nexus Mod Manager "an exception occured in the script"
so long story short ive been screwing with fallout 4 for about a week or two trying to get it to run properly with mods. and it seems whenever i manage to fix something, something else breaks.

i uninstalled both fallout 4 and nexus mod manager from my control panel, deleted any files in fallout 4 or nmm to start from scratch and make sure nothing was left over, re-installed both, opened a fresh unmodded game, and started to re-download all my mods.

everything was going alright so far but then while downloading one mod that worked perfectly fine before but now for some reason doesnt being the configurable fusion core drain mod (yes im a filthy casual who likes to not have to worry about leaving my armor wherever when it drains out, sue me.) a message popped up saying an exception occured in the script with a bunch of other text in the detailes section that i didnt understand a single bit of (im also bad at computer stuff, i just play the games)

is there any way to fix this? and if so, how?

I would go ahead and right click on it , delete it and redownload . do you run FO4 edit or loot they might help .

I have the same problem (along with a huge amount of others) after switching to a local account instead of a Microsoft one with a clean install. No solution? Looks like I'm going to have to switch to Mod Organizer which sucks because it's so convoluted....

I know this is an old thread but i recently found a solution that worked for me.

>right click your shortcut or NMM.exe and go to properties

>look for the tab at the top labeled securities

>select your user account or whatever administrator account you are under, i.e Greg@XXX.net

>click the edit button located under the box listing the user accounts

>make sure all option are selected, from full control to special permissions

This is from a windows 8 asus pc, also dont bother trying to change the permissions for the system it wont let you unless you know some 1337 hacker type stuff.

Hope this works im gonna try to spread it around other forums and threads!

THANK YOU! I was getting pretty irritated lol. Every mod I use except one installed just fine, after I did your suggestion, it worked just fine.

Thanks again!
