Pretty sure I missed Gage's second affinity dialogue

I already had the first talk with him a while back. A few days ago, I heard him say, "Boss, can I ask you something?" but it was in the middle of combat and I haven't been able to re-initiate that second talk.

That was ages ago, so I'd lose 5-10 levels/days of gameplay if I revert to a previous save. I used console command GetAV CA_Affinity to check, and it has me at 884; I understand that Gage gives talks at 250, 500, and 1000, so I've definitely missed something.

That being the case, will he still initiate dialogue at 1000? If not, is there a non-mod fix for this (I'm a completionist and don't want to disable achievements until I have them all).

You can set affinity but there is a bug with him on max affinity if you miss his dialog.

If you're trying to romance him, you only get one chance via dialog.

I figured as much. I don't usually romance companions, but I do want his perk

I'll keep checking and see if he initiates dialogue with me at 1000. If he doesn't, I'll set it manually.

This happened to me once. You'll get two conversations in a row the next time he goes to talk to you, so be careful it doesn't bug there too.

I understand. I'll say this much though if someone just wanted the Lovers Embrace perk he's about as "unmushy" as they come. Whomever did his morning banter must not be a romantic. :D

I use the Cheat Terminal[www.nexusmods.com] mod that unlocks each dialog one at a time and it works like a charm, the cheat terminal can teleport companions to you too and give them infinite ammo

Hmm.. I never noticed that function. I noticed the perks but not the convos... I concur that is a reliable program. I like the teleportation and stuff.

After reading this, I went ahead and romanced him just to see, and I thought the things he says are pretty sweet. Maybe not what we think of as traditionally romantic, but I like that he manages to be sentimental without being syrupy.

Maybe he was having a bad time with me as I basically got the "about time you get up" dialog. :D

there is a way to repeat dialogue. but for each stage, you would need to lower it to the trigger
(250, 500, 750, 1000) if you still want to know ,
click on the follower until the code comes up then in console type:
