Do the CC dogs have a use?

Just got the Golden Retriever for free, found it, adopted it and all i got was an option to send to a settlement, can i not use it as a companion?

I tried the free Labrador and it would not even wear a bandana, and even for that try I had to use the "openactorcontainer 1" command, since there was no option to interact with the dog.

It could be a mod conflict, though, my game is heavily modded..

Same to me, no interaction. I couldn't even complete the task "rescue the dog".

Well you can use to replace Dogmeat...if you have DogTransgriefer creation.

I don't have that..yet, i only get CC stuff when its on sale for a low price or free. So for now i have a living decoration

It is simple. You ask someone whether your labrador is golden or black.

It's a skinned dog model that can't even wear armor unless you modify their wear requirements, but even with that I noticed the "free" dog that they gave out had the bandanna clipping on them so they probably didn't intend for them to be able to use one anyway.

mostly they just add variety to the dogs you get from the traps. But some use them with the trans tool to change dogmeat into something else

Mostly they're just new skins for existing dogs, Dogmeat not included. In other words, they're the same in all ways as the dogs you get from cages. They add defense and happiness to your settlement. Basically, the one from the quest is a freebie, not anything special except that you can cycle through some names. The transdogimifier or whatever, just lets dogmeat look like one of the new breeds.

so dont buy any of the other packs, i got this one for free anyway so i havnt lost anything.
