Does Scrapper Perk Work With the Recycler? Workshop DLC
I can't get a straight answer on this. It's like people don't know but they will give me an irrelevent answer or comment. All I'm trying to find out is, does scrapper work with the workshop DLC as in will the recycler give me MORE scrap if I have the scrapper perk or is scrapper only applied when I'm scrapping manually? If the Workshop recycler gives you max scrap or a set amount anyway, seems like scrapper not worth investing into.

bit of a late answer here for you but no, you are going to have to download a couple of mods to scrap things like weapons and armor (which is what the scrapper perk effects). 2 mods i've found are Better Manufacturing (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/26375) and Manufacturing Extended (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/15429/). Manufacturing Extended adds things like the auto-butcher which breaks down bodies of animals and humans, giving you their components. Better Manufacturing adds machines that can break down weapons and armor. I also suggest downloading the Soylent Green (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/15776) mod which lets you use the human meat you get from the auto-butcher from Manufacturing Extended to make food and other items.

workshop recycler is used to break down junk. Scrapper perk doesn't have any effect on junk items, only weapons and armor, and then usually only useful for energy weapons. You don't get extra material for junk items. You really don't get extra much from having the scrapper perks and scrapping regular armor and weapons. Only higher end energy weapons will get you valuable extra material.

So no, the recycler won't take into effect your scrapper perks. You only need scrapper perks if your manually scrapping a lot of energy weapons to get extra stuff. It's useful, because you'll gather up a lot of energy weapons in the game, but really that is ALL the scrapper perks are useful for.

So if you want to break down your other stuff, junk, etc in your recycler, feel free doesn't matter your scrapper perks. If you are not just selling off energy weapons and want to break them down into useful more rare materials, then the scrapper perks are useful. Depends on how you play really. Some just get the caps perks and sell everything. Me, i love to get the scrapper perks later in levels when i have plenty of money already and have tons and tons of energy weapons sitting around. But like many perks, its useful in some situations, but isn't needed.

I never have the scrapper perks on combat characters, and i always have them on a merchant/non combat character. My combat characters need tons of perks to boost those weapon damage and skills, i just get the merchant/caps perks and sell off everything.

Scrapper works good on any weapon that is modded. You get a good return of screws and whatnot.

It is only plain pipe weapons that only ever give steel, they dont add extras (they are all steel no matter your perks). Same for armour, vanilla unmodded Raiders armour give only steel, vanilla leather give only leather, but modded armour gives you a lot of stuff, like cork and other hard to find items.

Scrapper is a solid perk. But you can play without and go about and be lacking in ingredients.

And yes, Scrapper only affects Weapons and Armour, and have NO effect on junk items.
