Far Harbor gives you the most powerful long-ranged rifle in the game
Other than that, no, not really, but Nuka World has a Gatling Laser that has infinite ammo.
such a thing can spawn in the base game, but I've played several hundred hours and only found one legendary ripper.
The Kiloton Radium Rifle is also nice, explosions + extra rad damage.
Harpoon guns are underrated for a very high damage single shot heavy, and The Admiral's Friend has Instigating which is even better.
Old Reliable is great, Two Shot Level Action Rifle.
As far as Nuka World, the Automatic Handmade Rifles are awesome, my favorites in the game. I think it is considered a glitch but the fire rate jumps to 375 when upgraded, compared to 90 for a combat rifle. With almost no recoil fully upgraded and 4 times the fire rate of a combat rifle it is the clear choice.
A Two Shot Automatic Handmade Rifle puts the OG to shame if you can find or use mods to get one, but I don't like the extra recoil so I usually go with Furious instead and you can buy the Splattercannon in the market.
I'm not a fan of the semi-auto Handmade Rifles though, just the automatics.
The new Nuka World rifle type (handmade rifle) is pretty great overall, and though the unique version Splattercannon is the best automatic rifle in the game, a two-shot variant would be an amazing semi-auto rifle as well. I like them both as automatic and semi-automatic. Huge magazine, low recoil, good damage.
Nuka World also has the western revolver, which is a better version of the .44, definitely worth picking up for a gunslinger.
Far Harbor has a radium rifle, which is an upgrade over the combat rifle, and there's even a guaranteed explosive variant of it. The lever-action rifles deal good damage per shot, but be prepared to spend a lot of time reloading.
If you're into heavy weapons, Far Harbor has a harpoon gun that is pretty good in a wounding or explosive version. With the right weapon mod, it deals good damage and often lets you loot the ammo you use back or even get more than you spent.
The best version of the fat man is also found in Nuka World.
Finally, Nuka World has by far the most absurd and useless weapon in the game: the acid soaker. It's fun to think about just how bad it is.
The two identical Furious unique versions are pretty monstrous.
Far Harbour has the Radium Rifle that is in the same family as the combat rifle, basically a combat rifle that does additional radiation damage without a legendary effect.
An explosive unique version is available to buy.
Far Harbour also has the Lever Action Rifle, which is positioned as an upgrade along the Hunting Rifle line. Unfortunately the reload animation stands out for being exceptionally crap. A two shot unique can be bought in the town you arrive in at the tsart of the DLC.
Your not really going to find something that seriously competes with a gauss if your looking for raw DAM. Wheras if you value RoF and overall practicality you don't even need to look at the DLC as several weapons can perform the role admirably.
The combat shotgun without one of a few specific legendary effects is underwhelming. There are many better weapons, DLC or no.
On a side note, does anyone know if the glitched extremely high values that the radium and handmade rifles often get for RoF when made automatic (300, 374) are anything more than display bugs?
When both are upgraded, it does more damage and has a much bigger magazine, has higher fire rate, longer range, and it has practically no recoil.
