Fallout 4 stuck on "clear the court yard"

I'm doing the taking independence quest and im stuck on the clear the court yard part.
i killed all the mirelurks and preston just says "we need to clear the courtyard first"
wtf???
does anyone know how to fix this bug

Kill all the mirelurks and enough eggs for the queen to pop
There are eggs inside and over the walls

I destroyed every single egg in the castle and im still stuck on "clear the courtyard" section

Then, it is bugged

Either you reload and redo the whole Casttle fight or you use the console and advance to next quest stage

I'd look for a mirelurk hatchling that wandered off.

If you dont know how to, you really should redo the fight

The console can really mess up your game if you dont know what you are doing, especially since this is a main quest
Otherwise, setstage Min02 300

This should bring the queen

I recommend quicksaving right before you use it

I did all of this but the mirelurk queen was stuck in the dirt under the water so i turned collsion off went down there got the queen's id and then typed "moveto player" in the console it seemed like it would work but then when i killed the queen the quest did not register and now im back to the same situation where the courtyard wont get cleared. I need help,

Just tested, and the above worked for me - good luck! Pity the queen must stay buried forever.

This bug seems to be created if you start "taking independence", but instead of meeting the minutemen and Preston before assaulting the Castle you kill all the hostile crabbies (and some eggs). When you start shooting they leave their meeting place. If they have nothing to shoot at when running to your aid they sort of get stuck on the radio pillar, unable to move.

I just had this happen and it was caused from Preston refusing to get his butt out of the little building and trigger the rest of the events. If this happens, you can fix it by "resetting" him - simply click on the guy and type resurrect 1 in the console.

Agreed, this is a good possibility.
Still might be easier to advance via console command.

Happened to me too. In middle of egg hunt decided to fast travel to Sanctuary to get power armor. Preston also fast traveled with me and stayed in Sanctuary even when i returned to finish off eggs. Quest then got stuck on all eggs cleared but no queen.

What solved it for me is another fast travel to sanctuary after. The way I figure out I need to be near Preston after eggs are cleared or something like that. So as soon as I appeared in Sanctuary it gave me task to kill the queen and when I got to castle there she was in water near it.

4 years later and you're still saving minutemen playthroughs.
