[SOLVED] CTD at Vault-Tec Salesman
I am getting a CTD after opening the door to the salesman but before the dialogue opens up. It freezes for a second, screen goes black and dumps me to the desktop with no error message.

This strated months ago and I gave up trying to fix it but I'd like to try again now. I have 82 hours played and

There have been no hardware changes.
I have the latest Nvidia drivers.
I've verified the integrity of game files.
I've reset the video settings from within the game.
I have no mods.
It was uninstalled a few months back and resinstalled recently.

Win 10
GeForce 980
8GB RAM
i5 4690K (no OC)

EDIT:
Tried Borderless = same crash
Tried windowed = same crash
Disabled GeForce overlay = same crash

EDIT2:
Solution at post #4

Yes. I figured it had to be something dialogue related triggering the error so I did some research. Turns out a mod I had years ago didn't clean itslef up correctly (or I didn't uninstall correctly). It was Full Dialog Interface and I needed to delete the two .swf files in the ...\Fallout 4\data\Interface\ folder.

Tested for about an hour and it is working.

Great! I think I have some errors related to the same mod.

Out of curiosity, which were the .swf files that you deleted? Thank you!

They are:
  • DialogueMenu.swf
  • MultiActivateMenu.swf

I used the uninstallation guide at the bottom of the Nexus mod page for Full Dialog Interface[www.nexusmods.com]

I noticed I didn't have a 'Strings' folder, so I skipped steps 3 & 4 and it's working fine.

Hmm. I'm experiencing this, but have never downloaded the FullDialog Interface mod. My interface folder looks to be fine too.
