Helmets, or head armor mechanics. How do they work?

Mine Synth Field Helmet has stats of 15 armor and 16 electrical resistance, but it shows as +45 armor on the head. I don't understand how does it work.

And yet, the armor stat shows just +15 to total armor, forgot to mention that.

Do You have any perks or masks on character? You can have more than 1 piece on the head.
For example you might have sleek balistic mask that adds +30 resistance and any helmet on top of it. You might be wearing a complete suit like the one from Far Harbor that adds armor to whole body too.

That's all I wear. It doesn't look like I have any armor skills at all. And it doesn't add exactly 45 to the total armor, just usual 15

Thats interesting, actualy my defense numbers are doubled on helmets aswell
