is the homemaker - expanded settlements the best all around settlement mod?

i have seen people with 50+ mods just for settlements, but i am just looking for a stable, large, all-in-one settlement mod.

it is the top endorsed settlement mod but that doesn't necessarily mean it is the best. i have found lesser known mods that do things better than the top endorsed mods of a particular category.

i realize "best" means different things to differen people, but as stated above, i would like to use something very stable that doesn't sap fps and adds many craftable vanilla assets.

any recommendations?

I would use homemaker, it includes everything I need basically

Homemaker expanded has the most items, yes. But as you said, "best" is relative. Personally I'd say Place Everywhere is the best settlement mod, simply because it saves me a ton of time and hassle since I don't have to use a million console commands to get things exactly where they should be.

For a smaller set of "must have" settlement mods, my suggestions would be Homemaker ES, Place Everywhere, Scrap Everything, and OCDecorator.

Those 4 mods can do pretty much everything.

Well, I was going to suggest it, but it's not an 'all around' mod IMO, it's more of a "I can't be bothered' one.

I'd say it's more 'I want my settlements to look like Mad Max movies but I don't have the patience to build twenty unique houses' mod.
