math wise thats 70x69x68 different classes. 328,440 classes.
...and you want us to list them all and name them for some purpose?
no
...That's not at all what I meant when I said "class". In the description I gave two examples of what I meant: sniper, and heavy.
There are only two classes - Punchy dude and shooty dude.
Or dudette. Lets not forget that we can play as a dudette.
Everyone has a playstyle. Even if they dont know what it is. I've played every Fallout game going all the way back to Wasteland. Honestly it never hit me that I am a stealth-sniper type until Fallout 4. Strangely enough, playing Fallout 76 non power armor Melee was my favorite class. The thrill of dodging death to ♥♥♥♥♥ smack someone with a tire iron with a sharpened blade welded to the end of it.... To each their own.
Its whatever makes sense to you.
Often people will just describe what they want out of a build "no/all vats", "sneak/crit/luck/sniper based build", "melee/tank/build", or "intelligence/charisma build"
If you really need to put a name to it just go with whatever the main perks your build has. Some are easy, like sniper, ninja, gunslinger. If you picked perks for high melee/crit damage in vats but didn't invest any points into endurance, then boom, you got a berserker class or whatever. There are tons of solid combos you could come up with class names for if you had the time.
Pretty much if use a little creativity and what makes sense then you can't go wrong.
For me, i'm building a crit based glass cannon ninja-gunslinger. All my stats and perks focus on maximizing sneak and critical hit effectiveness. This build has been my one of my favorites since FO1, but has always felt a little broken since you can just one shot most mobs.
I would say that, in this game, class is relative. It's whatever you wish it to be at any given moment and almost impossible to quantify.
I will go rest my elderly brain, now.
Speaking of, that also includes the VATS builds. Self-explanatory.
Though it doesn't work as well in Fallout 4, there are also builds where people focus more on passive skills, builds that have like maxed out Charisma.
There are two playstyles - shoot things or punch them. You can sneak and then shoot or punch or you can not sneak and then shoot or punch.
But it all comes down to the choice of shooting or punching.
Avoid conflict if possible. If they can be pacified through dialogue, then take that opportunity. If they cannot be reasoned with, and neutralising them is necessary, then take them out from a distance.
Basically, I'm a diplomat by day, sneaky assassin by night.
But, y'know, sometimes there are those big fights which are unavoidable and you're obliged to take centre stage. In which case, it's "Pray and spray all the way".
