Marine Assault Armor (Stuck on Inquisitor)
I've re-installed Fallout 4 after about a year and made sure to update all of the mods I have downloaded, I got to Far Harbor DLC and I noticed that the Marine Armor (every piece I encounter) is stuck on the Inquisitor or Zealot version and cannot go to Assault. I have AWKCR and Armorsmith installed unsure if those two do it but it's my best bet, only other mods I have that affect the armor itself is a bug fix for the neck, increased sprint for the legs, and the lighter mod (cause they were crazy heavy unmodded). Iv'e noticed this from trying to change it in the armor workbench and it only has the two options, the version of the armor (Zealot, Inquisitor, and Assault) and a modification (Custom Fitting, Lead Lined, Sleek, Muffled, etc.). Any help would be appreciated.

I have AWKCR but not Armorsmith Extended (so take that into account) I jumped in game and console added a regular Marine Chest Piece. Under Materials I had options for Indquistor, Zealot and Assault. Assuatl and I think Inquisitor both required 4 Armorer and 4 Science. The remaining one (I Think Zealot) only required 4 Armorer (which is what I had, not the 4 science). Also requires the Materials of course.

If you are not seeing the Assault Option I don't know what to tell you. Might be an Armorsmith Extended (or compatibility patch for AE)

I am using the last released AWKCR.

Also be aware that you can have an armor type look like another armor type of the same class. Light looking like heavy, Heavy Looking like Light. You can even upgrade a Light (say legendary) to a Heavy (again with the Correct materials).

Check the visual options and see if it is set to one of the non desired.

The option to change the type between Inquisitor, Zealot, and Assault is there but when changed to Assault it appears to be Inquisitor. I'm gonna look at Armorsmith and see if that could be it.

Alright I found out it is Armorsmith cause there is someone with a similar issue as mine, I posted to the bug report confirming the issue and hopefully the mod author can make a fix. Thanks "thateeverybody" for answering my question, take care.

Yeah, this is happening with the latest version of AWKCR (8.6, I think it is), too; has Armorsmith (and by extension, the bug) built right in!

Hi, I had the same problem and solved it. The armor texture was stuck on Inquisitor no matter what modification I made.

I have a long mod list (Including AWKCR and Armorsmith) but I ALSO had a mod installed called "real marine armor" which was the culprit. Deactivated that mod and then everything worked fine.

If you don't have "real marine armor" installed and still have the problem, my guess is that another mod conflicts with AWKCR and causes the texture bug.

I have Ballistic and Weaving mods which cause the same effect, not caring enough to change that. More important for settlers to be armored, I now wear only the helmet and using the Vault Armor over Army Fatigues.
