I see you haven't read the actual post.
I didn't see anywhere he said he was 18
This whole post is ridiculous, it's a single player game, there's nothing particularly scary here.
Go play something else.
of all time is the Fallout series (excluding 76) and I have to say I'm sad you don't like 4 because it's so scary. Anyway I hope this helped. Feel free to comment or add me as a friend. Oh and although steam says I've only played 50 hours or so of Fallout 4 myself as of writing this comment I can assure you I've played more than that. Waaaaaay more. One of my saves stands at 5 days and 4 hours of playtime in total on that single one. Not bragging btw, I was just using Fraps which stops steam recording playtime. Anyway, just remember it's just a game okay?
If you think fallout is scary, do not play stalker. Its an amazing game with amazing ambience, but yea, its spooky af, way more than fallout...
Maybe try to find mods that "goofy-ies" the enemies you like the least. I know there was a mod for skyrim that transformed spiders into bears, for arachnophobes. Maybe there's similar mods for fallout 4 :)
I'm inclined to agree, but less harshly.
It's a perfectly fine discussion topic, but the only reasonable answer to the OP is "Play something else."
If I were to wager a guess, the reason this game grabs you by the jewels vs. Alien or RE7 is the level of detail applied on a grand scale. The idea that you can closely examine and interact with nearly everything in the environment in a massive sandbox world can be as intimidating as any true horror moment.
Then there's the sheer unpredictability of the world. 50% of the time in horror-first games the horror is predictable, almost comically so. FO4 blends it's moment-to-moment scariness seamlessly into a world that's plenty scary enough even just in theory.
Advice? Sneak and scan your surroundings with VATS. Sneak will keep you ahead of the enemy and spamming Q to see if VATS finds an enemy or mine will help with dark or overgrown places.

I'm aware that it won't be the complete experience, but whatever, at least I'll be able to play through the game properly. Honestly, that's the best solution because I'll be able to enjoy the game without torturing myself and constantly worrying about creatures that jump out of nowhere.
Also, if you want, you can use that mod to disable only the flies.
Yes, that's pretty much what it is.
Game is waaay less intimidating in the sun.
stonks
And it just made things more horrifying.

It's hard to be afraid of something that's highlighted neon colors with a listed % chance to shoot them in the face.
It would be like if Elton John came running at you in a peafowl suit screaming "76% chance to pop my head like a cantaloupe, rocket man!"
A game can still scare you at any age. I still remember in Seven Days to Die spending a night in a closet in an abandoned house while Zombies literally roamed the house. I almost had a breakdown.
The answer is to identify the causes and find solutions. I know that's very vague and condencending but its true. Note I did not say it's easy. This can be applied in all aspects of life.
The answer is to stop being a puss and grow some ball hair.
