134 esp limit? I thought it was 255.
My game just absolutely refuses to take more than 129. It's frustrating me beyond belief because why do I need to settle for a little over half the actual limit. I assume it's something with my load order but I spent an hour in NMM changing it around in specific ways because Vortex is just a bad frontend. I didn't organize them by mod author's wishes because I can't go through under 100 mods to just try and find specific mod orders, some of which are unspecified and unclear.

Just please try to help me understand what the problem might be, because I've spent too much time just waiting for my game to load to see if a specific mod was causing the problem. :MrPew:

Run LOOT to sort your order. It will also show you other errors that you might have.

If the plugin limit that shows at the bottom of nmm is not red, then it's not a limit error.

I'm not going to research your mods for you. You should have read the descriptions as to where they need to go. For instance looks menu, should be close to the bottom.

I recommend using Vortex, NMM is extremely outdated now. You can use Mod Manager, if you think you're tech-savvy enough.

NMM works great. Also, Vortex breaks a lot of stuff in my experience. It is much harder to change the order of mods. On top of all of that some mods even tell you NOT TO USE IT, simply because the mods wont work with it.

LOOT doesn't change my order, even after multiple attempts. Don't know why. As of now, I have gone through every active mod, did a simple CTRL-F searching up 'order' and more than less than half of the mods had load order requirements. And most of them were about bug fixing. However I do thank you for opening up this around 20 minute long adventure for me.

The thing I don't like with Vortex is that it's just a streamlined 'bootleg' NMM. (Now I may just be inept at using Vortex) but I haven't found a way of manually changing the load order. The program even suggests using LOOT which can't do mod sorting as best as a normal person can. LOOT reads metadata to find out where to place mods, and some mods have pretty specific load order requirements which can't be translated into metadata; LOOT won't be able to properly sort them.

(EDIT) NMM also get's community updates so you could say it's outdated but also not. Depends on your perspective.

To OP, I really wish that I knew what your problem is. All I can tell you is that I have quite often used well over 240 mods for Fallout 4 and Skyrim SE with no issues. I use Vortex and Loot as well. Good luck though, NoyehThe. :cleanfloppy:

BTW, Vortex will identify mod conflicts and actually helps you to resolve them.

Thanks, I managed to get it to work by lowering the amount of plugins but only for a short time before it crashed crossing a bridge.

I'm confident about my idea of just disabling all of my plugins and then doing them over fresh. But I get so upset when I have to redo progress because I accomplish so much in so little time that I just get faster and faster. Who knows, maybe I'll be speedrunning FO4 quests soon.

Well...I am sorry to hear that you are modding more than gaming but I will hope things improve for you. Best regards, RJ. :spacewolves:

Are you making sure you close NMM while running loot? If you don't, because NMM has the load order file open Loot cannot make it's changes.

Yeah I think that's what was happening before.

I did a quick redo of all my mods and I got into a new game but it just crashed and I can't get back to the save. My best guess is just load order conflict or a mod that really doesn't like another mod.

RexJayden Jun 19, 2019 @ 6:15am
Seriously, try using Vortex to check for mod conflicts and then of course use LOOT afterwards. Also, be sure you are using the latest version of SKSE. :detonate:

Fallout 4 Unofficial Patch or See Through Scopes. I am wholeheartedly tired from this so I'm not even gonna try and think about how they could've made the game not work in my favor.

My only advice is that if you're having a similar problem and/or have a similar mod order as me, just try getting rid of these two and see if anything happens.

Your probably dealing with crashes becuase your load order doesn't quite look right. Also I can see that you installed Live Dismemberment incorrectly. You need to go back through the mod pages for all the mods you installed and do some reading. And Ill just toss in that neither UFO4P or See Through Scopes have any issue with each other or with heavily modded games.

If you can't take the time to read about the mods your installing and follow directions you will never have a stable game.

I just recently sorted my load order with LOOT, despite the protests of AWKCR's mod author's wishes, even using vortex to him isn't worthy of support; which is why I'm so adamant about using it.

Now I did do some reading, Live Dismemberment doesn't actually say how to properly install it, unless that was on the FOMOD installer. Even then, squinting my eyes to see an inch box of scrollable text in another box that's more than quadruple it's size? A little hard and annoying. As much as I love putting the blame on vortex, I could be at fault for vortex always telling me to 'activate all' when it detects multiple plugins. Could just be me, who knows?

I doubt Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch has any problems with a see-through scope mod, they're entirely different from one another. Although over my course of maybe 2 days doing troubleshooting, I stumbled on some forum threads talking about the Patch saying that it could cause CTD's, also that most of the bug fixes could be fixed without the use of mods. It was an old post but I'm a firm believer in history repeating itself.

For that last sentence, I leave you with this;

If you can't take the time to read about the thread you're posting to and follow the intense storyline of the plot, you'll never get a good response. Like look at this, I wrote too much.

Go to the Files section of Live Dismemberment. On the description for each download it says:

CHOOSE ONLY ONE .esp.

You have:

96 60 Live Dismemberment - Brutal.esp
97 61 Live Dismemberment - Liebermode.esp
98 62 Live Dismemberment - Insane-o.esp
99 63 Live Dismemberment - Mental.esp
100 64 Live Dismemberment - Mind-Blowing.esp
101 65 Live Dismemberment - POSTAL.esp
102 66 Live Dismemberment - Regular.esp

The author of AWKCR doesn't have a problem with Vortex itself, he has a problem with where LOOT places his mods. Since Vortex uses LOOT for sorting he jsut says he wont support Vortex.

Yup. . .This would do it. Live Dismemberment is conflicting with itself. Disable all but one of these and see how it goes. If this fixed it, then go back and choose which "version" of LD you want to use.

As a side note, there are several mods out there that have this setup of different versions, and you can only use one.

If this works, don't worry about reinstalling or deleting this mods or its esp's. Just select the plugins tab in nmm and unchecked the esp's that you want to disable. I would suggest a clean save before and after each change.
