Settlement Resource Limit, Automation and Power Armor for Settlers
Started playing recently. I read that resources in settlements only build up to a certain extent before they stop producing. Do I need to put all my food, water and junk items into a separate container from the settlement inventory to keep creating more?

Also looking at Contraptions to try to somewhat automate the process a little if at all possible so I don't have to constantly be looking for stuff in my settlement inventory to take out when I don't want to. Thinking Vacuum Hopper and Storage, maybe even Sorters if I'm feeling rich and OCD about where stuff goes.

Less important but kind of want to give Jun Long my spare power armor just because. Cores don't deplete if an NPC uses it and have a near-depleted core I can use for this purpose. Possible to also have him permanently suited? Settlers go to sleep so don't know if he'd just leave it when he does.

Thanks!

2. The vacuum thingie only works when you are in the settlement. A big let down for me.
3. Settlers are not companions. As best as I know, that will not work.
Also, a companion can be ordered to use a PA with no core at all and it still works. But later in the game I give the companion a full core because they never use it up. So I have an extra spare.

Not really that bothered the Vacuum doesn't work when I'm not around, just don't want to always feel like I need to always check my workshop each time I go into my settlement when I just want to drop my loot.

Bummed about the Power Armor. Kind of wanted to have him in one of baddest piece of equipment in the commonwealth and still be all depressed about his life. Also would've been nice having a few walking tanks roaming the settlement, make it feel more militarized and secure than having a bunch of farmers with guns.

Food production storage limit is 10+1 per settler.
You always get a full production as long as your current food amount is below the limit. For example if you have 28 food and your limit is 30 you still produce your food that day.

Scrap production limit is 20+1 per settler.
Scrap production is from scavenging stations and settlers without jobs. So scavenger stations are useless jobs in settlements that you store a lot of junk in.

Water production is your water production amount - consumption.

Happiness also gives a bonus to food and scrap production amounts. Happiness also reduces food consumption.

Permanent assignment to power armor is only possible through console commands (I think the commandable flag is what allows it.)
