Flannel Shirt And Jeans
Ok, so ive been thinking. I like the flannel shirt and jeans, but one thing bothers me. What the heck are the NPC's wearing around their ankles? Above the boots are what appear to be studded leather straps, but i dont understand the point/function of this. I feel that it clashes with the look and really serves no purpose. If anyone knows what it really is then let me know.

from what it looks like they are cloth straps around the knees, which are worn out so they wrap cloth around the holes and bare knee spots. I agree doesn't look good, but there are various mods that clean up the look and make them look better.

Yep, the straps are there. Dunno why. Zoom in on the picture. They do look like they serve no purpose.

Fill for wrong sized boots maybe? Possibly covering frayed end of pants legs as well.

Looks like it's a post-apocalyptic style design to keep the legs tucked in.
Probably added protection against rabid wild dogs.

That's my guess as well. That and/or some makeshift armor to protect the legs a little bit.

Methinks everyone is way overthinking this. This is just something the game graphics designer assigned to this outfit thought looked cool. None of it has to mean anything. He was probably some minimum wage kid that had thoughts of a dream career in gaming. Then he found out what a nightmare it really is. :steamsad:

No, I am not "a lot of fun at parties".
Because I never get invited to any. So there.

I mean, yeah, that's the 'real' answer, but where's the fun in that?
