How do I turn off DLCs?
I bought the version that has 6 DLC's.
I want to play the base game then play one DLC's at a time, is this possible without deleting the game and reinstalling?

Just disable the .esps for the DLCs
(With a mod manager that is. I don't know how you'd do it with GOTY as I don't own that bundle.)

I believe this should work, but why would you even disable them in the first place? You can simply not start them.

Personally I wouldn't go enabling and disabling the DLCs in a single playthrough, as it might cause issues. Then again, I'm probably just paranoid. I think the experience is overall better playing with them enabled, but if you want to turn them off, SnowGodz' advice should work.

Each DLC that has quests (and not just crafting blueprints) requires that the player go and start the quest at various locations. One of the DLCs (the robot one) is more 'integrated' than the other two, but for Far Harbor and Nuka World, both those require the player to actively travel to a different game world.

The reason I m trying to do this is because there too many quests and I keep getting further in to other parts (DLC's). If I knew which is the main quest I like to do them first.

If you're unsure of which quest is the main one, I highly doubt that you're getting too far into DLC quests, but that's just a hunch. Most likely you're just doing side quests, which is part of the vanilla (no DLC) experience. But here's a list of quests to avoid if you don't want to do any of the DLC stuff before beating the main quest (even though NW and FH are better completed along with the main story, imo).

Avoid: Mechanical Menace; Far From Home; All Aboard; Vault-Tec Calling

Well I m few hrs in to Far Harbor and do not even know how to get back to Sanctuary so was thinking I should just restart and do the base game first.

Impressive. If you want to restart, feel free, but there isn't a real reason to do the vanilla first, except personal preference, of course.
thank you

You can disable it by not installing it. There are two options for doing that:

1. library -> right mouse click "Fallout 4" -> select "properties" -> a window appears -> go to tab "DLC" -> untick the DLC's

2. or in library -> if you have detailed view -> there is a box "DLC". Just uncheck those that you don't want.

You what? Look on the minimap and fast travel back to the commonwealth and from there you can again look at your map and fast travel to sanctuary.
