New Tactics By The Concord Death Claw
Basically, it hid. I had to go after it. Never seen a death claw this chicken before. It made the fight a little more interesting. I had to give myself a clear line of retreat, since none of my weapons could do more than around five percent of its total hit points damage. At a certain point I got tired, so I hoofed it on back to Sanctuary and got 8 hours sleep.

Then I went back to town and finished it off. Stuck my head in to say "hi and by" to the worthless five. As usual they're too "BWAWKBWAKBAW" to leave the museum before I have a ten minute conversation with them--I guess to sooth their shattered nerves. I already have a small settlement in Sanctuary, and I don't need their foul mouths, laziness, and incessant hammering on house walls. Ever noticed that none of your regular "settlers" hammer on the walls?

Like other melee-only opponents, deathclaws tends to hide out of your line of fire when they can't reach you. I've frequently seen the same thing when shooting at the ones that appear in Lynn Woods from the top of the tower there.

All settlers are worthless until you assign them jobs and the "worthless five" can be assigned also. I use three for farming and don't recruit new settlers. But later I send some from other settlements for stores.

Basically, it hid.

If you stand too far in on the doorway it will run off when it can no longer reach you. It will do the same thing if you stand in the right spot on the roof of a car.

Now that you mention it yeah. I would have thought those markers were usable by anyone.

You don't need "The Worthless Five" at all. When you enter Concord, sneak in around the back side of the church, so that Preston can't see you. Then, from the roof of the church jump across to the crashed vertibird. Sneak up to the power armor, activate it, then sneak over to the edge of the wall and jump off. Then fast travel back to Sanctuary, or Red Rocket.
When you return to Concord, useless Preston will be back inside the museum, and will never come out again. Of course this means the deathclaw will never come out of the sewers either. You can then ignore the Minutemen quests for the rest of the game.
If jumping across to the vertibird is too hard, simply go into the console and use the noclip command, and sneak up to the power armor that way..

You forgot about the perception bobblehead. Way more important than power armor.

This time the death claw started out hiding. Usually I get a few shots off before it ducks for cover. If I recruit the five I always end up shooting both of the Longs, and that incessant hammering makes Sanctuary so unpleasant I end up leaving. That and Garvey with his endless "Another settlement needs......"

No I didn't, I merely showed a way of bypassing the entire Minuteman story line. Yeah the perception bobblehead is useful, but there are other ways of boosting perception like eyeglasses. Definitely not worth having to put up with Preston and his "another settlement needs your help" BS..

You can get the bobblehead without letting them out of the museum. After you kill the deathclaw and Jared you just never go back inside.

Very true, that is an alternate way of doing it. One cool thing I noticed by using my method, is that if you then explore the Concord sewers, you can hear the deathclaw breathing behind the brick wall as it sleeps. At first I thought, what the hell IS that? But it then dawned on me it was the sleeping deathclaw..

It is actually the best way to do it.
1. The Perception bobblehead.
2. You get Dogmeat's name.
3. If using Sim Settlements the holotape and ASAM sensors are in the museum.
4. The Robco magazine.
5. The Corvega key from Jared (otherwise need master skill.)

Actually I always go back inside the museum AFTER I kill the death claw. I stand there in the entrance, jump up and down a couple of times. A few times I have walked right by the morons, gone upstairs, and recovered the extra set of power armor--I always go into the museum wearing my own set of power armor. Unless you stop and talk to the brain dead idiots they won't emerge from the museum. Also they won't starve. You can go back six months later, and they're still waiting--just as worthless as they were to begin with. Garvey has even tried to start talking to me a few times. I just ignore him. They STILL don't come out.

I tried sending most of the Concord group to other settlements just to get rid of the banging - it didn't work - other settlers took over. Had to use the Scrap Everything mod to get rid of the animations they were standing on - blissful peace!

Heeeeeeessssss Baaaaaaacccccckkkkkkkk!

Oh s@t, I thought we were rid of ......

Wait. Oops. Did I say that out loud? Tell me I didn't say that out loud. Crud. Well, maybe he did not hear me. He is old and all. Yea, that's it. He probably never heard me.

DAN. You are back from the Skyrim plains. I thought you might have beaten that FO4 monkey on your back. :steamhappy:
danconnors 2019 年 8 月 4 日 下午 7:20
No, I just took a two month vacation. I played Skyrim Special, that I picked up in 2016. I got a character up to level 48, and she had just mastered double enchantments in expert mode. I had to lower the difficulty from legendary to expert, because of eye deterioration. I quit because I had gotten over powered I guess. Also because the Skyrim controls are clunky and hard to use. Bethesda made at least one improvement in the transition from ES5 to FO4, and that was the controls. I got tired of having to go on the internet to look up the code for each almost invisible dungeon claw--since I couldn't maneuver the claw to view it.

You can also find out Dogmeat's name later on from Nick Valentine. Me personally, knowing his name is useless, as I ditch him just as soon as Codsworth becomes available. Dogmeat (or "Dog" as it often happens) then sits in his doghouse back in Sanctuary (until he is needed to track down Kellog) for the rest of the game..
