How to become the Mechanist
So, I have wanted to truly be the Mechanist with an army of bots for a while now. But no mods allowed me to do so. Fortunately, one night, I thought of this (hopefully to you) brilliant idea.

DLC'S REQUIRED
Automatron (duh)

MODS REQUIRED
Working settlers (don't have links so you have to search them on nexus)

MODS RECOMMENDED
Journal of the Sole Survivor (fun)
AEC (adds eyebots, good idea for Sparks 2.0)
SOE (loads of cool stuff for settlements)
Unique furniture (just look it up)
Blood, rust, and bone. (adds a few cool Robobrain parts, as well as Rust Devil stuff)

HOW TO USE
Get Ada and Jezebel at a settlement, I chose Red Rocket, and assign to them a Robot Scavenging station and a Liquid Scavenging station. Come back and clear the workshop repeatedly, until you can build another bot. Assign a new station to him to get more resources. Rinse and repeat, until you have enough to make a provisioner to supply the Lair so you don't have to get the parts yourself. Build a Sparks 2.0. Up to you whether you make him an Eyebot or not. Keep going, until you conquer the Commonwealth!

Also, get some mods for the Lair itself. It sucks in it's current state.

It's not exactly being the Mechanist, but I have one character with whom I specifically made a robot army in the vanilla game (using the official DLCs, but no mods) by simply building enough robots to assign one to every possible provisioner connection, resulting in over 600 robots constantly roaming the Commonwealth. Every single one is an assaultron with twin miniguns.

The settlement connections shown in the Pipboy ended up like this:

For a while; I gave the provisioners miniguns because it made for longer, more impressive battles with lots of gunfire. It gets especially fun in places like the Quincy Ruins where the resistance is strong enough for a lot of them to turn up and get involved.
