Monogamy - Break the Romance Loop
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/39765?tab=description
I like that even the description says "Actually, you can make them stop asking with a vanilla dialogue option, but..."
It's also a 2 week old, barely tested mod.
Other than all the drama here, the issue is that Fallout 4 conversation is vain with the memory of a gold fish.
Do yourself a favor, get used to checking things like Nexus yourself for mods and skip all the drama queens declaring you homophobic or any other melodramatic faux argument they might try to insert.
Edit:
I see you found it. Great. I was eye rolling the first thread page so never went to page 2 before commenting.
Amazing how much drivel was posted here without one mod reference/link.
That mod is two weeks old. The description even points out that ALL IT DOES is make the gentle turn-down comments have the same permanent effect as the nasty comment that makes them forever stop advancing on you.
The mod is not necessary to do what the OP wants and no one posted a link to the mod they didn't know about because it's a two-week old mod that does something you can already do in the game with the right dialogue option.
I suggest in the future you thoroughly read all mod descriptions.
No one accused the OP for being anything other than strange and whiny.
The homophobic guy who compared gay people to chicken nuggets is the one I called homophobic and then went on to prove from the details given in only two of his posts.
The deep irony of saying "I dont like gay people, and anyone who thinks that's not okay is a Hitler!" might have created a black hole on Earth.
1.) Piper annoys me to tears with her horrid facial expressions, and IDK about Cait as I use robots as companions as they don't ♥♥♥♥♥ when I do stuff they don't like, pack 5x the fire power, and carry more.
2.) I have had a gay friend make an advance 1 time. He was flat told "Not my thing bro. Flattered, but no. Sorry." and it was never brought up again. If it continued it would have resulted in a rather detrimental fight.
3.) You are right you can't just wish away gay people, but you can expect them to not define every aspect of their personality by sexual preference.
4.) If someone is rude/snarky/evil to you, why would you consider even pursuing the topic further regardless of the topic, let alone a relationship.
FO4 SJW politically correct garbage is scattered throughout the entire game, from the main character's evident white knight complex, to Kelogg's "bad guys have reasons to" memory quest during reunions, to aggressively homosexual advances by your companions, to basically no opportunity to be truly the bad guy like in previous Fallout titles.
No one gives two f u c k s if you are gay, no one cares if you are straight, no one cares if you are black, yellow, purple, grey, teals etc. until you start shoving it in their face on the daily. If you keep making advances towards someone regardless of sexuality it is SEXUAL HARRASSMENT! If a woman kept it up I would tear her apart verbally just as fast as I would a gay man, a black transsexual, a pansexual furry that identifies as a 12 inch cast iron skillet. It is not ok to continue to believe that is homophobic. IDGAF what sexual/racial/object preference you have all people are annoying and no one deserves special treatment because of what or who they like to have sex with, the color of their skin, or their mental state concerning their own identity.
It's ok to not like people. Just like it is ok to not like foods, opinions, music, colors, smells etc. It is part of being a individual. He can not like gay people, and gay people can not like him for that. See how that works? Just because people like Ed Shean's music doesn't mean I do, I prefer DevilDriver, but someone might not like that because of their own personal perceptions and tastes. You could list the merits of Ed vs Dez and it still wouldn't make me like his pop trash. So why even argue about it?
Stop defending your position, and for the love of the flying spaghetti monster stop trying to tear down his just to make yourself feel better. Opinions and beliefs are like a s s h o l e s, we all have them, and some just spout s h i t and others can get f u c k e d.
3) The game does not define the character's personality like that. It's literally one overly affectionate line.
4) That is actually how it works. If you select the most rude option the trigger to never bring it up again kicks in. That mod linked says that quite literally in the description. All it does is make nicely turning people down also a permanent option.
I'm not sure there's any correct way to defend bigotry, prejudice and ignorance.
Except you are wrong as well. You can not like Ed Sheeran's music but it would be prejudiced to judge his character on that.
Prejudice is not about "preference." It's making a call about someone's character based on things that have literally no affect on it like race, sexuality, culture, height, weight, the jingling change in their pants, etc.
This isn't some insane SJW rant. It's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Civil Rights 101.
Also, unless you meant when you were 13 years old, this is BS:
Gay people don't need to come on to you to find out if you're also interested in men or not. This is like some mythological story that every person comes up with in these discussions. The real world is not a game with dialogue choices where they have to come out and say "I'm gay! Are you!?"
Once the friends option is chosen it ends the "romance" dialogue or at least it did in each of the numerous times I have played the game.
To pursue the romance option takes time and passing at least one or more flirt option speech checks before the romance dialogue begins much less giving you the romance dialogue option.
Unless you have something that has already changed it or are overreacting to non "romance" related comments then making the final decision of friends rather than romance ends the topic.
That being said there probably is a mod somewhere that will remove or change the romance options in the game.
Just be sure to read the description, posts, and bug lists of any mod before making a decision about trying it as well as make a permanent backup save before trying one as some issues a mod has can be baked into a save making them stay even if a mod is removed.
Well here's Google's version since it's more concise:
So, basically, treating all gay people with hatred or intolerance ("not liking") is bigotry by definition. I'm glad we cleared that up.
I don't know about "the media" since I don't pay any attention to the news at all, but at least I know I'm using the word right.
Actually the only way to know if someone is gay unless they actually tell you is to ask.
The nonsense that you can just tell by looking at them or because they like showtunes etc. is in fact a myth.
While you are correct real life is not like some game with limited dialogue options you do still have to make a choice not just about what you say but how you say it the fact is you also can not tell good from bad or what someone likes or does not like just by looking at them as if we can see their stats etc. like in a game either.
Of course this reality will not be accepted because of all the straight people in history they want to make false claims about due to how they dressed or what sports they played etc. anything but the facts like who they actually did romantic/sexual (as defined in their own time) things with.
One can "not like" something or certain actions and still not hate or be intolerant of them.
