Vault 81 'Hole in the wall' mission is bugged.
I've tried all the different ways of completing this mission, including console commands, but nothing works. The Molerats never attack me, unless they're right next to me, and when I have the cure and push the button on the elevator to leave my game locks up and I have to hard reboot my computer. The only thing I really want from doing the mission is to get Curie as a companion. I can use console commands to finish the mission, but what's the console command to get Curie as my companion...as in: move her to my character?

Edit: it was a mod that was interfering with the mission. I have no idea which one, of course, 'cause I had a bunch of them running...disabled all of them except 'Survival Options' and started a new game. I have Curie as my companion now, but, unfortunately, I also discovered that several other mods are broken, including DEF_UI. : /

Yup, same for companions. Power armour also doesn't help.

Here how I did it successully. Console is your risk of course:
Start the quest and run towards the entry with Bobby.
Dont enter the area. Open Console with Ö and write:
setstage 00022a0a 700 Enter
setstage 00022a0a 710 Enter
setstage 00022a0a 750 Enter
102249.moveto player Enter
Now curie is next to you. Quickly speak with her. Now you can just run to Austin and heal him with the cure. Finish. Only sadly the medicine bobblehead is not with you.As you enver entered the area. I used the console then to add it to my inventory. I knoww, not nice, but I cant enter the area without crashing after saving^^

I have another solution if you don't want to use the "setstage" console commands.
Start the quest and run towards the entry with Bobby and go into the secret vault. (without any companions)
Use the "tcl" (noclip) console command, go into the ground (like 5-10m, dont trigger any enemy) and run straight to into the room with the ashes of the scientists / (lockers and candles) on the floor. Disable noclip (type "tcl" again) and speak with curie through the glass and wait until she open the door. Take the cure, the bobblehead and curie and use the elevator to get to the surface.

So uh.... Bit late on this but.. I'm having BOTH the infinite loading screen issue and an issue with curie not even talking to me after she opens the door. I'm at the point with fallout 4 that I'm about a day away from just uninstalling and re-installing fallout new vegas and just forgetting about 4 all together.

I found the fix. Type in console command tDetect it turns off detection. When you get to curie turn It back on. And this will allow u speak with Curie. I was stuck with this issue all day with or with out scrap mods. The issue is with mole rats. Once they are hostile it bugs out the game

Also. If the dialog is messed up. Walk away until she says "where are you going" come back. And the dialog with her will continue

Update. To prevent game freeze when leaving.(the elevator where curie is) push curie to the elevator. Close the door of the elevator. THEN press the elevator button.

There is a mod fix for that particular crash involving molerats.
No more Teleporting creatures.

Yeah I ran into the issue early on in game where the molerats were crashing the game in Molerat Den under Red Rocket and in the Concord Sewers. Never had it happen since.

The other way you can see you have the issue is when the mobs ignore you, if you did not crash when they came out of the ground.

I think it also fixes the blood worms in Nukworld.

Actually, for whatever reason, the final stage is 800, so:
setstage 00022a0a 800 (and Currie teleports right to you after you type that.)

You really got to love the console commandos. They aint even playing the game anymore they just console their way through the quests.

Do the quest normally. Use ONE console command to create a duplicate cure.
Creating a duplicate cure is not going to break the quest stages and scripts.

Well, when the game is buggy, what else can we do? I ran thru this game and did this exact quest with no problem. Then decided to make a new character, and I could not complete this Hole in The Wall quest. Everything went fine until the game crashed as soon as I tried to leave, either by using the elevator, or leaving thru the doorway i came in.

So I am playing the game, or at least trying to.

Well, when the game is buggy, what else can we do? I ran thru this game and did this exact quest with no problem. You have the tdtect bug. I posted the solution in this topic last year.
