Armorsmith extended needs to be cleaned! Clean it or no?
I feel like such a massively popular and highly used mod would be cleaned prior to upload so I'm hesitant to clean it. I've googled the F out of this and couldn't find a definitive answer.

Anyone know?

Do not clean the file. ITMs in the mod are intentional.

First understand what it is talking about when it says it needs cleaned.

https://loot.github.io/docs/help/Dirty-Edits,-Mod-Cleaning-&-CRCs.html

Second understand that it does make mistakes.

"it may report false positives for ITM records when a plugin is used with different versions (most commonly different localisations) of its dependencies than those it was created with."

Third always read the full description of a mod as well as any information the mod author has said on the matter.

Sometimes the falsely identified ITM records are needed for a mod to work correctly.

To me cleaning is one of those things that if you have to ask, you are best off not doing it.

If it aint broke dont @#$% with it.

Not quite, Its a MASSIVE mod so knowing if its "broke" or not is an infinite possibility to when the "broke" time will happen.

If you want to break the mod, go ahead and clean it. If you want it to work, then dont clean it. Also, you should be asking the mod owner if you should clean it or not, which I know without a doubt that you shouldn't clean it. But hey, it's your choice if you want to break the mod. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

It's okay to ignore literally all of LOOT's "warnings" but not the errors provided you only use well-endorsed mods and read their descriptions thoroughly. It's a good idea to use the posts or forum tab and the bugs tab as well to help get a picture of whether a mod is stable or not.

Of course, out of my 90 mods, only 10 warnings pop up and I think most of them are telling me to clean the official masters. They aren't common, but in most cases (related to quality mods; see above) they also aren't going to break anything.
