Power Armor Thief
I have my power armors stored in a completely enclosed room, that requires me moving a wall, and whenever I come back with a power armor, from the nuka world area, I go into the room, and there's a Gunner, walking around in power armor, and no fusion core in the suit. I think I stole that suit from a Gunner, so maybe that's why they spawn in it? Is there a way to remove ownership and faction assignments from power armor?

Treat your power armor like a car.
Don't leave the keys in the ignition when you are leaving your vehicle for a long time.

In other words remove the fusion core if you dont want theft.

Its just common sense.

Hmm yes sometimes the enemies use power armor that you cant take from them.

You probably keep power cores in a container that isn't secure.

You're right. It is common sense. Which is why I didn't do that. All fusion cores I find are kept on me, at all times.

All fusion cores are in my inventory. I don't keep them laying around, just so stuff like this SHOULDN'T happen, though apparently it still does.

So you remove the core from the armor then? Might be hard to use your armor if keep your cores in your pocket at all times.

I don't really use the armors. I'm just making a display room. As soon as an armor is moved into place, the core is removed, and kept in my inventory.

Hmm so you are saying a gunner is appearing in your locked room in power armor it spawned in with.
Well if there was an enemy before there in the past the game will respawn the enemy after a certain amount of game days as you know.
I would suggest you get a mod I use called No Respawn from nexus.
It slows down respawn time by like 1000 days instead of a couple days or whatever it is default.
That should prevent this guy from showing up and disturbing your peace.

Perhaps the room is built on a spawn point?

My display room is in Sanctuary. And I've moved the power armor elsewhere. And it's not a new power armor it's spawning in. It's an existing power armor I have, on display. I think he's spawning IN the armor

sorry can't find the picture that shows them.

So I did some digging. The problem was that the power armor itself was a spawn point for a Gunner soldier. I used the console command to remove ownership ID, and the problem stopped.

Interesting...

The NPC could have had a power core in their inventory, a corpse nearby (like an automatron), a nearby container.

Basically the NPC checks if a frame is within looting distance, if yes it then checks to see if it owns a core or has a core within that area.

Usually gunners in power armor only show up one that defense mission (if you have no defense) and 3 of them attack in power armor. Which I think Sanctuary is too low of an area for that one.

Running mods?

No Mods. And, as I said, all fusion cores are on me. The Gunner was spawning inside of an empty power armor, that I kept in my base. I solved the problem by removing the ownership ID, via console commands.
