Sledgehammer vs super sledge?

What's better? Both weapons deal 200 damage but my Sledgehammer has a penetrating effect.

I think a fully modded bat is a bit lighter with more damage and options. id have to double check on the super sledge though, i never see them.

Both the bat and regular sledgehammer are worse than the supersledge in the base game. With Nukaworld, both are much better than the supersledge when fully modified, although that requires both blacksmith AND science to be maxed out. The sledge is slightly stronger than the bat, but the bat is much much lighter...and you can buy a good legendary bat from Moe in Diamond City.

if you are choosing weapons by leg-effect, get a mod from nexus for leg-effect transfer (iirc it was called visg legendary)
