yeah, maybe at low levels you should run away from them... and maybe you are already in an area where enemy levels are above yours and hence too strong;
no it is not the dumbest enemy in video game histroy, it seems as if you are simply ways to weak to beat it at your current level ;-)
I intentionally use difficulty settings and mods that make some encounters impossible to win until other conditions are met. There is no stupidity in not being able to do everything in the game starting at level 1. I swear. These kids. Gimme gimme gimme.
Sometimes you have to earn it, big chief.
Also, jet, psycho, buffout, etc.
Wow, we all respect you now.
That was what you were going for, am I right?
Also: that's not some endboss of a dungeon. That's a randomly spawning monster. So all the smug "well, you probably went into an area you are not supposed be in at your level" reasoning doesn't apply here. If I'm level 10 and I have a decent weapon (Righteous Authority from Danse) I shouldn't need 80 shots to kill a randomly spawning enemy. That's not a challenge, that ridiculous.

And ... you did not even try to find out why the Med-X will help. Those hunters have a strong poison attack. That's about all they can do. Once you negate that threat, they are easy to kill.
This game has a gazillion little things you need to learn about to succeed. It is not just a run-n-gun game like Doom.
Have you upgraded your Righteous Authority? Have you learned the big "secret" about laser weapons?
Nuke it.
Mirelurk hunters really are one of the lesser of your worries.
I should have foreseen every single reply. It's not like I'm new on the internet.
As for the gigantic mirelurk queens, an 80 shot drum clip from an upgraded assault rifle, two jets, and one med-x is usually enough to bring one down. Insode one are around 10 of the superb queen stakes plus whatever she's eaten in the not too distant pass. This is usually well worth the price of an 80 shot assault rifle clip. I don't generally go hunting queens, unless I plan on settling Spectacle Island--which is one of the finest places to settle in the Commonwealth.
So, there you have him the mirelurk hunter. Possibly one of the more dangerous careers, but very rewarding in terms of gastronomical delights.

Maybe first explore the blue colored area and afterwards proceed with the main quest and go to higher level areas.
@danconnors: You made my day :-)
You start out with a comment like that and then YOU complain when people actually give you helpful advice. Yes, we did it in a snarky way. You did deserve that.
Upsi, I have obviously overlooked your link, sorry ^^, but hey: Make assurance double sure, although Kasaidere might be not interested in our help, as the second part of your reply is also already pointing out ^^.
