[SOLVED] Outfit Studio: Armor pieces clipping with custom outfit
UPDATE:

I re-made an outfit using existing meshes with Outfit studio (specifically Kellog's Outfit and Undershirt and Jeans) to make my own version of the Merc Grunt Outfit which also exists on the nexus. What bothers me is that after I put it in the game, the armor still clips through the merc grunt outfit. Any advise on how I can fix this? I'll post the screenshots here for reference

Only way to make the armor not clip through the shirt is to make the shirt bigger than the armor or make the armor bigger than the shirt.

Won’t making the shirt bigger make the armor clip more? I didn’t touch the armor pieces in any way, they’re just vanilla

Yes, just a little attempt at humor. There is a tool in the Outfit Studio for increasing the size in small or large selected areas. Set it for the size of area want and wave it over the areas that are clipping to move it slightly above the shirt.

Hard to tell when someone jokes on forums lol, its not like you see facial expressions haha. Anyway, I appreciate the help, I'll try it out

Nice. Much easier and faster than my way.

Here are the screenshots after the fix, I should make try to make a guide about this. I don't think a lot of people know

Sorry for the necro, but do you have a guide on how to do this? I exactly have this mod and it frustrates me how bad the armor clips on it.

Oh hello, I apologize for being away for quite a while. Do you have Creation Kit? You'll need that in order to fix it.

Oh hey there, sure I'll try to make a modding guide about it.

To get you started though, you'll need BAE to extract the .sclp data of the outfit with the "most fitting" fit. You can take a look with Creation Kit for the outfits to know what their filenames are
