Is it worth buying GOTY edition?

Im thinking of buying Fallout 4, but is it worth buying GOTY edition? By that i mean is DLC's good as they were in for example Skyrim Dragonborn or Dawnguard? I'm asking because i see a lot of negetive reviews on DLC except 1 maybe.

Why dont you find out what each DLC adds and make your mind based on that?

30USD for the GOTY edition is well worth the price IMO. But, only Far Harbors length can be compared to the Skyrim DLC. Nuka World is fun but shorter than Far Harbor or the Skyrim DLC. The rest of the DLC is more workshop items than anything else. The Vaut-Tec DLC gives you a large cavern to build a vault in and that could be fun too. Automatron DLC gives you a short questline and the ability to build robots.

All in all, I recommend the GOTY edition at the current sale price. Which ends in about 1 hour.

how much is the game of the year edition? In my opinion, the dlc is worth about $30. Let me tell you what you get. Far Harbor and Nuka world give you two new world spaces to explore. Far Harbor has what i have heard is a great story. Nuka world lets you be a raider. These two are considered the best of the dlc. Automatron has a small quest (i have heard that it is about 5 hours), but it does greatly expand the number of types of robots you will come across, and it allows you to make robots in your settlements. Vault one allows you to make a vault, and gives you vault components to use at other settlements. It has a small quest too.

Then you have all the wasteland workshop stuff. Some consider these a waste and think they should have been in the game at release. I agree they should have been in the base game, but i do see value in them. One allows you to make factories. Another allows you to make cages so you can capture creatures that can fight in an arena that you can make. Others just add more components to the settlement building. The work shop dlc does not have any quests, just parts. If you plan on doing any kind of settlement building, they will be very valuable. With the wasteland workshop you get the ability to make cement, elevators, and glass walls. This allows you to make clean near seemless settlements that can fit into tight spaces.

if any of this looks interesting, the game of the year edition gives it all to you. I paid $30 for the dlc seaso pass and have been pleased with what i got for my $30. So, yeah, game of the year edition is worth getting. For the right price.

ive just made a post.. basically i bought main game ages ago but never played, i want dlc but now the 6 dlc season pass is 19.99 but the entire collection in GOTY is also 19.99 why would i pay 19.99 for just the dlc surely should be cheaper... how can more or less content be the exact same price!!!??

timing is everything. I paid $60 for the ps4 version of the base game, then $30 for the season pass. Later, when i upgraded my computer, i got the base game for less than $30, but paid $50 for the computer dlc. Timing is everything. If you want the dlc, pay the $20 before it goes up again. When i had planned on buying the dlc for the computer it was on sale for $20. I waited one day and it landed up costing me $30 more.

You must not be using U.S. dollars, because the GOTY Edition on sale is 29.99, not 19.99. And the Season pass is also 29.99.

To answer your question, Many games go on sale for the base game and the DLC are not on sale at the same time.

You must not be using U.S. dollars, because the GOTY Edition on sale is 29.99, not 19.99. And the Season pass is also 29.99.

To answer your question, Many games go on sale for the base game and the DLC are not on sale at the same time.

no im using GPB but either way your comment is wrong, as in this case both dlc and season pass is on sale and the goty.. so i either pay one price for all dlc or one price for another whole copy of the game AND all dlc, why would i ever buy just the season pass, the goty should be 5-10 more or the season pass should be less.. by simple childs logic... cant get more content for the same price.. now if i buy the GOTY edition by original copy on steam will be just gathering dust... so i will have 2 copies... silly... every other game on steam i have EVER played says like extra discount on season pass or dlc if you already have the game obviously to prevent you buying the GOTY for no reaon...

Yes the GOTY is well worth the price but no one mentioned that it is also necessary for many if not all mods that you might want to play in the game.

u misunderstoof im not angry about price going down or up its the fact i already own the base game but have to re buy the GOTY edition as its the same price as just the dlc... makes no sense, both the season pass and the base game + season pass "GOTY" are £40 now on sale at 20 so no matter when i buy it i will always be buying goty obviously as there no point at all buying just the dlc.... so i will have bought my originally copy for nothing literally never ever play it and will be no reason install it... its just idiocy by marketing

Since you already own the game, you would not get a second copy of the game if you bought the GOTY Edition. Only the DLC would be added to your library.

Since you already own the game, you would not get a second copy of the game if you bought the GOTY Edition. Only the DLC would be added to your library.

well if thats the case then im still paying the same price and getting scammed the base game... it makes no sense.. i already paid for base game so i should get the current base game price of the season pass to bring it in line with value of buying the GOTY thats simple child logic right??
