Tab key broken: Cannot exit Terminals
I already rebound the key for the pipboy, but I can't find a way to exit terminals without it. Is there a mod or a way to change the game files in order to set another key to exit terminals with?

Settings > Controls

Just remap it to Mouse5 or somethin’

There's no specific key in the controls for exiting something. It simply uses the same key, [Tab], as opening the pipboy. However, though I rebound the key for the pipboy, I can neither exit it once opened with the same key, or exit terminals, because both would need me to press [Tab]. Which doesn't work.

If you were pressing Shift+tab to go into the steam overlay, press Shift+tab again, i dont know any other way.

To clarify, I mean that by tab key is actually broken. Like, wholly broken, nonfunctional.

I've run into a bug like this when trying to rebind the keys for tossing grenades and such. I think there is a workaround for this, but it's probably buried in the Forum posts here. Either that or someone had a mod to do this. Honestly can't remember since I just got used to how it worked. Best thing to do is search here for "rebind keys" posts and start scanning them to see if they have the same problem.

You might need to search up software that can rebind your tab key at the windows level.

Or check the FO4HOTKEYS mod to see if you can bind a key to a script function that will work?
