But since turning off all mods does nothing, I am at a loss.
Also, since other saved games using the same mods are not impacted, it doesn't seem likely that any sort of file corruption is to blame.
Edit: I went back through saves, and they were healing normally up to a certain point. No idea what triggered this issue. Don't want to go back and lose X hours of progress. Maybe God is telling me I play too much.
Edit again: After going back through saves, it started when I was building out the Mechanist's Lair. Is it possible to delete something that is a script using Scrap Everything?
Is there some way to reset the core script that all companions use? Not individual companion behavior, but the core script? Since all companions are supposed to regenerate after battle, there must be some sort of AI script that tells them to do that. I am assuming that is what the problem is.
Anyone know?
Statistically not true, based on the number of problems that were in the base game
1) Perm swimming companions that don't fix when exiting the water. Just exiting the game and reloading fixes it.
2) Perm down companions glitched/hurt when passing between areas. On console just point and "kill" command to fix. On console, just beat them down or shoot them down until they die and pop back up and then stimpack them.
Thats it. Other problems are all done with mods.
Thank you for your brilliant input. I am in awe.
Perhaps you missed the part where I mentioned that I had disabled all mods and the problem persisted, or that other characters with the same mods worked fine?
My question was more for those with some actual knowledge of what's under the hood. If a mod broke something specific, and if it persists after the mod is disabled, then it is probably a script of some sort. Is there any way to reset those?
Edit: Actually, you accidently gave me a good idea. If a mod has broken something in the core scripts, but it did not affect other toons, I should be able to simply reload the game, reload the mods, and the problem should go away.
I love people who speak in absolutes. So we went from only people with Mods have Problems wih companions to well ok the base game has problems with companions but ONY THESE 3. So if I come up with something not on your list what will it be next time? Yeah.....I've seen this movie before...I won't spoil the ending.
You wouldn't happen to be on survival difficulty, would you? Survival difficulty removes auto-healing companions.
I hate mod users that cry about their mods, but then say it isn't their mods. Go play with your gum useless mod posters, arguing with you is worthless. You already said you HAVE mods and you tried disabling them and it didn't work. And yet you want to argue that it isn't your mods lol. So funny.
Oh my...I certainly didn't see that arguement coming. What a suprise twist. You will surely win the oscar this year Mr. M Knight Shamyaila's evil twin brother from a parrarelle universe.
