COMPANIONS do not heal (regenerate) after combat
Edit: Originally I thought this was Curie only, but after some testing it is actually ALL of them.

After a short delay after combat, all companions are supposed to regenerate. Instead, they simply stays at whatever health level they were at when combat ended. No regeneration.

This means that they always goes into the next fight down X% of their health. They ONLY heal with stimpacks, either themselves or by me if they get knocked out.

=> I've already shot them until they collapse, and administered a stimpack. No change.

=> I've already disabled / enabled them. No change.

=> I've tested with all mods turned off. No change.

=> TAI / TCAI on/off. No change.

This is like my 3rd run through with the exact same mods. It doesn't seem to be mod related.

Any thoughts?

Have you tried dismissing her and rejoining? List all companion related mods anyway, all mods if you can. Someone may know something you don't. Assuming this is Synth Curie and not Robot Curie?

The only companion mods I use are:

> Loving Curie
> Loving Piper
> Ponytails / Eyebrows / CBBE

But since turning off all mods does nothing, I am at a loss.

Also, since other saved games using the same mods are not impacted, it doesn't seem likely that any sort of file corruption is to blame.

Edit: I went back through saves, and they were healing normally up to a certain point. No idea what triggered this issue. Don't want to go back and lose X hours of progress. Maybe God is telling me I play too much.

Edit again: After going back through saves, it started when I was building out the Mechanist's Lair. Is it possible to delete something that is a script using Scrap Everything?

Only other thing I can think of is gear they are using. Does it have some sort of Buff effect?
Victrix Dec 25, 2017 @ 5:33pm
All companions have different gear, and it is affecting all of them. It isn't gear.

Is there some way to reset the core script that all companions use? Not individual companion behavior, but the core script? Since all companions are supposed to regenerate after battle, there must be some sort of AI script that tells them to do that. I am assuming that is what the problem is.

Anyone know?

its none of those stupid ideas. People don't have a problem with the companions like that unless its a mod. Period. Something messed up the files, have to figure out what mod did it. Period. If you install mods, and it messes up the game, its MODS. Not some other wierd bug.

Statistically not true, based on the number of problems that were in the base game
EolSunder Dec 25, 2017 @ 9:21pm
the only problem with companions in the base game is sometimes they go down and when passing between areas they stay down.

1) Perm swimming companions that don't fix when exiting the water. Just exiting the game and reloading fixes it.

2) Perm down companions glitched/hurt when passing between areas. On console just point and "kill" command to fix. On console, just beat them down or shoot them down until they die and pop back up and then stimpack them.

Thats it. Other problems are all done with mods.

I've encounted the issue to where I'd stimpak them in battle, It would show their health regen. Yet they wouldn't get back up. They'd stay put. In order to get them on their feet, I'd be forced to enter another cell in order to break the 'sit down' bug.

Thank you for your brilliant input. I am in awe.

Perhaps you missed the part where I mentioned that I had disabled all mods and the problem persisted, or that other characters with the same mods worked fine?

My question was more for those with some actual knowledge of what's under the hood. If a mod broke something specific, and if it persists after the mod is disabled, then it is probably a script of some sort. Is there any way to reset those?

Edit: Actually, you accidently gave me a good idea. If a mod has broken something in the core scripts, but it did not affect other toons, I should be able to simply reload the game, reload the mods, and the problem should go away.

I love people who speak in absolutes. So we went from only people with Mods have Problems wih companions to well ok the base game has problems with companions but ONY THESE 3. So if I come up with something not on your list what will it be next time? Yeah.....I've seen this movie before...I won't spoil the ending.

You wouldn't happen to be on survival difficulty, would you? Survival difficulty removes auto-healing companions.

game has been played by millions of people, so yes, if you find some dumb glitch with companions and you have tons of mods, its the mods because the millions of vanilla players have already found EVERY bug in the game already and posted about it.

I hate mod users that cry about their mods, but then say it isn't their mods. Go play with your gum useless mod posters, arguing with you is worthless. You already said you HAVE mods and you tried disabling them and it didn't work. And yet you want to argue that it isn't your mods lol. So funny.

It is nothing to do with mods, it is a vanilla issue, just fast forward to a couple of areas and they are fine.

Oh my...I certainly didn't see that arguement coming. What a suprise twist. You will surely win the oscar this year Mr. M Knight Shamyaila's evil twin brother from a parrarelle universe.

arguing doesn't change the facts no matter how much you want to think the sky is pink and water is yellow. Dream all you want, doesn't change reality.
